Rally Together London showcased at the Davis Cup

Young people, volunteers and community leaders from across the capital were celebrated at the Davis Cup as Rally Together London continues to open up tennis to more communities across London.
Rally Together London is a three-year partnership between the LTA and the Mayor of London, designed to make tennis more accessible to young people and underrepresented communities across the capital.
Through the programme, at least 5,500 young people will be introduced to tennis, while 250 volunteers, activators, coaches and community leaders will be recruited and trained, helping to build a more diverse future workforce for the sport.
The programme focuses on creating opportunities both on and off the court, providing pathways into participation, volunteering, coaching and employment. By working closely with local partners and community organisations, Rally Together London is helping more young people experience the benefits of tennis and see a place for themselves within the sport.
As part of the Lexus Great Britain Davis Cup team’s campaign at the Copper Box Arena participants involved in Rally Together London had the opportunity to experience world-class tennis and see first-hand how major events can inspire the next generation.
Several Rally Together London activators played a key role in supporting activity around the event, helping to welcome fans and create engaging tennis experiences throughout the week. Trainee coaches were also on site delivering tennis activities, putting their newly developed skills into practice, building confidence and engaging with participants in a live event environment.
I loved getting to help out in the fan zone and seeing people have fun playing tennis. Then getting to watch the Davis Cup from the front row with my little sister just made it even better.
Community groups from across London, including Connect Stars, Brent Young Carers, Billy Youth Engagement Project, Queens Crescent Community Association and Hyderi Islamic Centre, were invited to the Davis Cup through a dedicated ticket offer. The programme helped young people and families from across the capital access a major international sporting event in their city, creating memorable experiences both on and off the court.
Tickets were also distributed through LTA Tennis Foundation partners, extending the opportunity to even more people from underserved communities.
The ticket offer also recognised Barclays Free Park Tennis activators across East London, whose work helps deliver free weekly sessions at 22 park sites across six boroughs, creating more opportunities for local people to pick up a racket and play.
For nine-year-old Naomi from Connect Stars in north London, the event offered a moment she'll never forget. Naomi was invited onto court to perform the official pre-match coin toss ahead of Arthur Fery's match against Ecuador's Alvaro Guillen Meza, experiencing the excitement of elite international tennis in front of a packed crowd at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Her special role was part of a thrilling weekend that saw Great Britain record a 4-0 victory, giving young fans like Naomi memories to last a lifetime.
