US Open 2025: Jack Draper withdraws with injury

• 1 MINUTE READ

British No.1 Jack Draper has been forced to withdraw from the US Open due to injury.

Draper was set to play Belgium's Zizou Bergs in the second round but the 2024 semi-finalist has pulled out with an arm injury.

The world No.5 has been dealing with the injury for the past few months since Wimbledon.

His win over Federico Agustin Gomez in the opening round was his first competitive match for almost two months. Draper also reached the semi-finals of the mixed doubles event alongside Jessica Pegula.

In a statement on X, Draper said: "I'm sorry to say I'll be withdrawing from the US Open. I tried my very best to be here and give myself every chance to play but the discomfort in my arm has become too much and I have to do what is right and look after myself.

"Thank you for all the support."

Everyone at the LTA wishes him a speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing him back on court and healthy soon.
