• 2 minute read

World class tennis is returning to North Wales with the second instalment of the Lexus Wrexham Open – the biggest women’s tennis event in Great Britain outside of the grass court season.

Find out everything you need to know about the 2026 Lexus Wrexham Open.

When is the Lexus Wrexham Open?

Qualifying for the Lexus Wrexham Open will take place from Sunday 18 October until Monday 19 October.

Main draw action gets underway on Tuesday 20 October before finals day on Sunday 25 October.

Where is the Lexus Wrexham Open taking place?

The Lexus Wrexham Open is a W100 ITF World Tennis Tour event held on the indoor courts at the Wrexham Tennis and Padel Centre.

The tournament has replaced the former W100 in Shrewsbury and is the biggest indoor tennis event in the country.

Which players are competing at the Lexus Wrexham Open?

In terms of British interest, wild cards have been awarded to Alicia Dudeney, Hannah Klugman and Lexus Junior Nationals champion Daniella Britton.

Dudeney has been one of the in-form players on the ITF World Tennis Tour this year, winning an impressive five titles, including the biggest of her career at the W50 Nottingham.

Two of her five titles this year have come on British soil, and the 23-year-old will no doubt look to make it a hattrick as she bids to be crowned Lexus Wrexham Open champion.

She's joined by 17-year-old Klugman who will be hoping to continue the momentum following her run to a first pro-level title.

Klugman enjoyed a breakthrough campaign at the W50 Leiria last month, dropping just two sets on her way to victory to lift her first World Tennis crown.

Like Dudeney, also picked up some milestone wins on home soil this year, including reaching the semi-finals of the W50 in Nottingham and capturing her first WTA main draw win on the grass at the Lexus Nottingham Open in June.

Finally, Britton arrives ready to make just her sixth appearance at a pro-level event. The 15-year-old won the 16U and 18U Junior National Championships back in April and will be one to watch at this year's tournament.

Meanwhile, several international stars are also set to compete, including Alina Charaeva - who recently upset world No.1 Elena Rybakina at the China Open, alongside Belgium's Greet Minnen and former top 50 players, Lucia Bronzetti, Linda Fruhvirtova, Rebecca Sramkova and Claral Burel.
