British players

The men's draw will welcome plenty of British interest for the home crowd to get behind, with Jacob Fearnley, Jack Pinnington Jones, Billy Harris and Toby Samuel all confirmed.

Leading the charge is former Lexus Nottingham Open champion Fearnley who will be hoping to hit the ground running fast on the grass this year. Last year, he reached his first ATP 500 quarter-final at the HSBC Championships and will be hoping to replicate that success this summer.

He'll be joined by last year's Lexus Ilkley Open runner-up Pinnington Jones. The 23-year-old narrowly lost out on the title to Tristan Schoolkate but carried that form with him - securing his first Grand Slam main draw win at Wimbledon before lifting the Nottingham Challenger title just a couple of weeks later. He's already secured some big wins this year, including at the Dallas Open where he came through qualifying to reach the quarter-final.

Harris has been a standout star on the grass in recent years having made the quarter-finals at the HSBC Championships and semi-finals in Eastbourne. The British No.6 has been a regular competitor on the ATP Challenger Tour this year but will be hoping the grass will bring even more positive results.

Samuel will arrive on the grass with plenty of confidence off the back of qualifying for his first Grand Slam main draw at Roland Garros. The 23-year-old has been in fiery form this year - winning two ATP Challenger titles and rising to a career-high ranking of world No.159.

Ones to watch

18-year-old Lilli Tagger is a former Roland Garros junior champion and will be one to watch in Ilkley. Last year she reached the quarter-finals of the girls' singles draw at Wimbledon and at the J300 event in Roehampton.

Rising Australian star Emerson Jones is one of the brightest young stars on the WTA side, and is set for action in Ilkley this year. The 17-year-old recorded her first win for her country during their Billie Jean King Cup clash against the Lexus GB team back in April. Czech star and former top 50 player Linda Fruhvirtova will also contest the title.

On the men's side Norway's Nicolai Budkov Kjaer is one of the most exciting young prospects on the ATP Challenger Tour. The 19-year-old is a former junior world No.1 and is currently at a career-high ranking of world No.123 thanks to the four Challenger titles he hauled last year.

Portugal's Jaime Faria enjoyed some positive results on the grass last year - making the quarter-finals at the Lexus Nottingham Open and coming through qualifying to reach the main draw at Wimbledon - and Henrique Rocha has also been in fine form on the clay.

British success at the Lexus Ilkley Open

While the Lexus Ilkley Open is yet to crown a singles champion across either the women’s or men’s singles draw, it did see all-British doubles duo Julian Cash and Henry Patten lift the men’s doubles title back in 2022.

The tournament marked the second of 10 ATP Challenger titles that Cash and Patten won that year. They beat Ramkumar Ramanathan and John-Patrick Smith 7-5, 6-4 in the final.
