HSBC Championships 2026: Henry Patten & Harri Heliovaara into seventh final of the season
• 2 minute read
Henry Patten and Harri Heliovaara’s 2026 season reached another high after the world No.1s defeated Neal Skupski and Christian Harrison to make the Queen’s final.
Patten and Heliovaara were too strong in the deciding match tie-break, beating the Australian Open champions 6-4, 3-6, 10-3.
They continue their stunning form this season with a seventh ATP final – including four titles.
Off the back finishing runners-up at Roland Garros the two have bounced back incredibly well and are now be looking to add the HSBC Championships to their trophy haul.
Patten will be aiming to become the fourth British champion at The Queen’s Club in the last three years – following reigning champions Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool, and 2024 winner Skupski.
The British star has enjoyed being back on home soil this week and has been relishing the atmosphere at The Queen’s Club.
“It’s amazing, especially in front of a home crowd,” Patten said. “It means a lot to play at home in front of you all (the crowd). We had a great time.
“It’s amazing to be a part of it (British doubles contingent). It’s a golden age for British doubles.
“As a Brit I’m typically pessimistic about most things, but about doubles, I’m very optimistic. It’s something we should cherish and be proud of as a tennis nation.”

In the final, they will play Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic after they knocked out Cash and Glasspool 6-4, 6-3.
Patten and Heliovaara have won their last four meetings against the fourth seeds, including three matches this year.
It was a solid first set from the British-Finnish team – who had break points on all but one service game against Skupski and Harrison.
However, the tide quickly turned at the start of the second, with the Grand Slam champions racing out to an insurmountable 3-0 lead.
Going into the match tie-break it seemed like all momentum was with Skupski and Harrison, as their opponents wrestled to get their serve in rhythm again.
In the big moment, Patten and Heliovaara stepped it up. A couple of missed volleys from their opponents helped them take a 6-0 lead, and there was no coming back for Skupski and Harrison.
The doubles final will follow the singles final tomorrow at the HSBC Championships.
