Keys is continuing her run of form by booking her place in her fifth grass-court semi-final.

The Australian Open champion has had a lot of success when it comes to the British grass court swing -  winning three titles on the surface in Birmingham and two at Eastbourne.

Speaking about playing on the grass in London versus Eastbourne, she said, “It's very different. I played Eastbourne many times, and I always really loved it. This is very different, being in London. It's a lot busier - but again, amazing courts, and really, we're all just trying to get as many matches as we can on the grass.”

Keys goes into the semi-final with a three-match lead in her head-to-head against Germany's Tatjana Maria.

Maria has had a dream run at the Queen’s Club so with the 37-year-old coming through two rounds of qualifying to reach the main draw.

On her path to tomorrow’s semi-final the world No.86 has knocked out two seeded players in sixth seed Karolina Muchova and eighth seed and 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina - as well as 2024 Eastbourne runner-up Leylah Fernandez.

Maria will be fighting to add a second grass court title to her 2018 Mallorca Open crown as she takes on her first-ever WTA 500 semi-final.

Ahead of her week at The Queen’s Club, Zheng had won just four matches on grass. Fast forward five days, and the Olympic champion is gearing up for her first semi-final on the surface having eased past 2024 Nottingham and Eastbourne quarter-finalist Emma Raducanu in straight sets in the previous round.

The world No.5 is constantly learning and adapting to the surface during her run, saying "I was feeling better and better during the match. I started to know how I have to move on the grass court, which shot I need to attack, which shot I need to defend.

"I just believe in the grass season, the best improvement I can get is not during the practice; it's during the match.”

Awaiting Zheng on the other side of the net, Amanda Anisimova who is also through to her first WTA Tour semi-final on grass after contesting five quarter-finals on the surface.

After defeating Coco Gauff at Wimbledon in 2022, the American bagged just her second win on grass against a fellow American when she defeated third seed Emma Navaro in straight sets in today’s final quarter-final match on the Andy Murray Arena.

The match will be one to watch as the American hopes to add a maiden grass title to her three tour trophies, as well as a first win over Zheng who has won on their previous three battles.
