Speaking on competing at the HSBC Championships, world No.20 Jovic said, "Last year's grass-court season was a special one for me, I won my first WTA 125 title on grass at Ilkley, broke into the top 100, and then qualified for my first Wimbledon main draw.

I really enjoy playing on the grass, and I can't wait to be back this year playing at an iconic venue like The Queen's Club for the HSBC Championships.

Last summer marked a grass court season to remember for rising star Jovic, who won her first title on the surface at the Lexus Ilkley Open after beating eighth seed Rebecca Marino in the final.

From there, the teenager fought through qualifying to reach the main draw at Wimbledon for the first time before making the second round at the US Open.

Jovic’s impressive run of form carried through to the end of the season, where she rounded off the year by capturing her maiden tour-level title at the WTA 500 event in Guadalajara.

The young American has carried her confidence into the new season and has quickly built on last year’s momentum. Following a semi-final run at the ASB Classic, Jovic went on to finish runner-up at the Hobart International before embarking on her Grand Slam breakthrough by reaching the quarter-finals at the Australian Open – becoming the youngest player to reach the last eight in Melbourne in 19 years.

Now sitting at a career-high ranking of world No.20 and regularly competing at the biggest tournaments on the WTA circuit, Jovic is set to bring a wealth of excitement to this year’s HSBC Championships.
