The champion returns: Carlos Alcaraz set to star at the cinch Championships in 2024
Carlos Alcaraz, winner of the 2023 cinch Championships and current Wimbledon champion, is the first player to enter this year’s prestigious tournament held annually at The Queen’s Club.
Alcaraz enjoyed title winning success on British grass last year, not losing a match on the surface. After his success at the Queen’s Club defeating Australian Alex De Minaur 6-4, 6-4 in the final, Alcaraz returned to world No.1, aged 20.
The Spaniard has a long list of achievements including winning 12 ATP Tour singles titles that includes two majors: 2022 US Open and 2023 Wimbledon Championships, as well as four ATP Masters 1000’s. After winning his first grand slam title, Alcaraz—who was just 19 years old—became the youngest man to claim the number one spot in the ATP singles rankings.
Alcaraz said, “I’m excited to be heading back to the LTA’s cinch Championships this year. Winning the title in 2023 was very special for me and the perfect preparation for Wimbledon. I really enjoyed playing on the British grass courts and look forward to competing again this summer.”
The announcement comes as cinch Championships priority window tickets go on sale for Fan+ and Compete Advantage members.

Last December, the cinch Championships was awarded ATP 500 Tournament of the Year at the annual ATP Awards for the second year in a row. This was the fifth time in eight years that the historic event has won the award, which is voted for by players to recognise the leading standards set across events on the ATP tour.
Chris Pollard, LTA Digital and Events Director added: “The LTA’s cinch Championships promises to be very exciting this year. We are delighted to welcome back our defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, who is such a superstar and opens up tennis to so many new fans.
"Having been voted the ATP 500 Tournament of the Year for the fifth time is a testament to how much the players enjoy returning to The Queen’s Club, and we look forward to another terrific week of world-class tennis."
