Mimi goes close in Roland Garros quarter-finals

Mimi Xu and partner Ranah Akua Stoiber pushed Alina Korneeva and Sara Saito hard in their Junior French Open doubles quarter-final but eventually lost out to the number-one seeds.

Welsh ace Mimi, and fellow Brit Ranah started well, as they bid for a semi-final place, winning a close first set 7-6. They looked to be going well in the second set. However, their opponents demonstrated why they are top seeds as they clawed their way back to take the second set 7-5. The third and final set was a nail-biting affair, going to a tie break, Korneeva and Saito coming out on top 10-8.
