Welsh duo Mimi Xu and Viktor Frydrych are set to play in this year’s Junior Wimbledon.

Both players took to the courts at SW19 last year and will be looking to build on their experience 12 months ago.

Viktor, 17, is from Colwyn Bay but is now based in London. Like last year he has received a wildcard entry into the prestigious tournament.

It’ll be the third visit to Junior Wimbledon for Mimi, 15, from Swansea. 2022 saw her reach the last 16, where she lost to Isabella Kruger of South Africa.

Mimi said: "I'm extremely excited to be playing junior Wimbledon again this year. Every year I've played at the All England Club I've always learned and enjoyed it so much. I can't wait to go and play in front of the home crowd again, hoping to do some damage on the court."

Tennis Wales Head of Performance Chris Lewis said: “This is fantastic news for both players. It will be a great experience for them to again play on the hallowed turf at Wimbledon against the best junior players in the World.

“Both players have had some strong results coming into the event and it will be exciting to see how well they can do.”
