How do Rankings differ per age group?

For 9U & 10U Players, Rankings are based on Recent Form, whereas for 11U to Senior Players, Rankings are based on the LTA Combined Rankings.

Recent Form (9U & 10U)

Best 3 results from previous 6 months.
Combined Rankings (11U - Seniors) Player's highest 6 Singles points, from domestic and international competitions, and 25% of their highest 6 Doubles points from domestic & international competitions, from previous 12 months.

Played aged 11 and above can compete in any age group at a tournament to gain a ranking. However, they are subject to Play Up rules, which determine how a Players Rankings are calculated.

In summary, a Players Combined Ranking is calculated using at least 3 results from their own age group, plus an addition 3 results from either their age group or up to 2 age groups above their own.

Point allocations are weighted by age group, so players are proportionately rewarded for playing in older age groups. Full details of the Ranking points available for each age group are detailed in the following documents:
