**Tennis Coach & Coordinator – Cheshire East Parks**

**Hours:** 3–4 hours on court at weekends, plus 2–3 admin hours weekly (flexible)
**Rate:** £25/hr on court, £15/hr admin. Private lessons charged at an agreed rate, usually £25–£35/hr depending on experience.
**Locations:** Meriton Road Park (Handforth), Alderley Park, South Park (Macclesfield), Bollington

We're looking for a part-time coach to build and deliver weekend tennis across our Cheshire East park sites, with an initial focus on Meriton Road Park in Handforth, where there is clear demand but no coach in place.

**The role:**
- Deliver weekend sessions including mini tennis, adult beginners and private lessons
- Coordinate our free park tennis sessions
- Support and help coordinate a team of volunteers
- Grow participation across the parks

**What we offer:**
You won't be starting from scratch. We'll support you in building your sessions with an open day, a schools roadshow, email marketing and social media promotion. Demand exists across all four parks, so there's real scope to grow your hours and income.

**You'll need:** A recognised coaching qualification, DBS clearance, and the enthusiasm to build a programme from the ground up.

**The Venues**

Cheshire East Parks has over 3,000 players using our courts across the summer — a base of roughly 400–500 players at each venue. We receive regular requests for coaching and currently can't meet weekend demand. Each park is different, but all four have a strong community at their heart.

Court hire is just **£2.50 per hour** across all sites, keeping your costs low and your sessions affordable. No floodlights, so the programme runs to daylight hours.

**Meriton Road Park, Handforth** — 2 courts. Our immediate priority: an established player base but no coach in place, so there is demand waiting from day one. Strong potential for mini tennis given the local schools and families using the park.

**South Park, Macclesfield** — 5 courts. Our largest site, in a well-used town park with high footfall and a broad mix of players. The court capacity makes it ideal for larger group sessions and open days.

**Alderley Park** — 2 courts. An active, regular group of players with good scope for adult group coaching and private lessons.

**Bollington** — 2 courts. A close-knit village community where the courts are a real local asset, supported by an engaged group of volunteers.

There is unmet coaching demand at all four sites, so a coach who builds a strong weekend offer at Meriton has a clear route to expanding across the others.

Person Specification

Essential:

LTA Level 2 coaching qualification (or equivalent)
Enjoys coaching outdoors and is comfortable working across the seasons
Reliable and dedicated, with a consistent weekend presence players can count on
A genuine passion for community — understands the difference tennis can make and the impact it has beyond the court
Comfortable working with a range of ages and abilities, from mini tennis through to adult beginners

Desirable:

Experience coordinating volunteers or working within a community programme
Confidence engaging with schools and local groups to help build participation
