Samuel seals back-to-back crowns
Just a week on from lifting his maiden ATP Challenger title in Egypt, Britain’s Toby Samuel has made it two on the bounce after racing to victory in Manama without dropping a set.
It was another impressive week for Samuel on the Challenger circuit, with the 23-year-old convincingly easing through the rounds. He kick-started his dominant run with a 6-3, 6-0 win over American Colin Sinclair before dropping just three games against Semen Pankin to reach the quarter-finals where he brushed aside Sergey Fomin.
Into the semi-finals and Samuel produced yet another devastating display against Frenchman Matisse Bobichon to book his spot in the final where he took on second seed Ilia Simakin.
There, Samuel needed just 49 minutes to dispatch his opponent – winning 6-0, 6-2 to etch his name on a second title in as many weeks.
Following successive victories on the ATP Challenger tour, Samuel has now risen to a new career-high ranking of world No.267.
Clarke caps off season with Challenger victory
British No.6 Jay Clarke closed out his 2025 campaign by lifting his second Challenger title of the season.
The British No.6 narrowly lost out on the Soma Bay Challenger crown to Samuel the week prior but went one step further at the Challenger Cup Pakistan.
Clarke had to fight through two testing three set battles against Dinko Dinev and Vadym Ursu on his way to reaching the semi-finals. There, he took on compatriot Zach Stephens with Clarke coming out on top 7-5, 6-3 to set up a final clash against Turkey’s Mert Alkaya.
There, the 27-year-old produced a sensational display against the world No.414 and dropped just four games on his way to sealing a 6-3, 6-1 victory in just over an hour to wrap his hands around the trophy.
Clarke now ends the year having claimed two Challenger titles and three additional ITF crowns. He has now jumper to No.174 in the ATP rankings – just 21 spots off his career-high of No.153.
Elsewhere on the Challenger Tour, Arthur Fery came within touching distance of a second title of the season at the Athens Challenger but fell just short in a testing three-set match against Michael Geerts.
The 23-year-old Brit – who has clocked a new career-best ranking of No.193 as a result of his run to the final – fought back from a set down against the Belgium but couldn’t complete the comeback as he eventually lost out in a 7-5, 4-6, 6-2 defeat.
