International padel is heading to Stratford. Here’s everything you need to know about the third UK FIP RISE event this season.

When is the FIP RISE Stratford 2023?

The FIP RISE Stratford will start from Wednesday 8 November through to Sunday 12 November.

The qualification draw will take place from 8 November before the main draw from 9-12 November.

Where is the FIP RISE Stratford taking place?

The FIP RISE Stratford will take place at one of the UK’s biggest padel venues – the Stratford Padel Club.

Opened in December 2018, the club has played host to many events at the top end of the LTA British Padel Tour and boasts five indoor courts. The club is also open to members and non-members looking to play padel in London – with over 11,000 registered players.

What is the Cupra FIP Tour?

The Cupra FIP Tour is the second of two official padel circuits run by the International Padel Federation (FIP).

The Cupra FIP Tour is made up of five tiers – starting from FIP PROMOTION as a entry level to international padel, through to FIP PLATINUM, the highest level before reaching the Premium Padel Tour.

FIP RISE events are the fourth highest level of competition on the tour. The FIP RISE Stratford is the third event at this level to take place in Great Britain this year – the highest number ever.

Which British players are competing at the FIP RISE Stratford 2023?

British No.1 Tia Norton will join forces again Rosalie van der Hoek as they bid to win their second FIP title of the season. Norton has had previous success on home soil, having won the first FIP RISE event in the UK at the 2022 London Padel Open.

Joining her will be Aimee Gibson – multiple title-winner on the LTA British Padel Tour this year – is teaming up with France’s Elodie Invernon.

Elsewhere in the draw, GB will be represented by Lisa Phillips, Sophia Haine, Catherine Rose, Victoria Nicholas and Abigail Tordoff.

Nikhil Mohindra will be the top seeded Brit in the men’s draw with Rayane Akram Hamou, while Louie Harris is set to challenge with Miguel Matin Cano.

Who are the top seeds at the FIP RISE Stratford 2023?

Spanish, Portuguese combination Julia Polo Bautista and Patricia Ribiero will be the top seeds in the women’s draw at the Stratford Padel Club.

Title-winners at Rocks Lane back in April – Dutch team Marcella Koek and Stephanie Weterings return to British soil as the third seeds, ready to challenge for another FIP RISE trophy.

On the men’s side, Spanish duo Cayetano Rocafort Lores and Pedro Vera head to Stratford as the top-ranked pairing. Vera – who is the highest ranked player in the tournament at world No.89 – was also crowned champion at the FIP RISE Rocks Lane Chiswick earlier this year.

Keep an eye out for Belgian second seeds Clement Geens and Maxime Deloyer, who won their home event in Mol this year, as well as third seeds Gonzalo Perez Arbona and Manuel Rocafort Lores.
