Andy Murray challenges Chunkz to Tennis Shootout competition

Going head-to-head in a series of challenges, Murray chats about his pre-game ritual, the inspiration behind AMC and how he and Chunkz both hope to encourage more people to take up tennis this summer and in the future.

“People always think you need a huge space but that’s not the case” said Murray.

“You can play in a small area and learn racket skills and play with the ball in creative ways”.

Building on the huge success he’s had on the court throughout his career, Murray is enjoying the challenge of fronting his own performance apparel line. The two-time Olympic gold medallist names the great Fred Perry as one of his inspirations for starting AMC.

“When I first started playing I was using Fred Perry tennis clothes because he was one of the greatest players from Great Britain and that was really cool.

“While I was out injured, I was thinking of what am I going to do when I finish playing? I always thought one day it would be nice to have my own brand of tennis clothes.”

Known for his prowess on the football pitch Chunkz took up tennis this summer alongside basketball, cardio and HIIT training to help increase his fitness.

He recently made an appearance in the LTA’s ‘U IN?🎾’ campaign – a rallying call-to-arms to people of all ages, sizes, cultures, and ability, to get outside and play tennis.
