Wimbledon 2025: The sporting stars and celebrities spotted at The Championships

We’re approaching the business end of this year’s tournament at the All England Club and with world class action on display, many of the world’s biggest stars are making the journey to South West London for the pinnacle of the grass court season.

Wimbledon has long been one of the biggest sporting events on the calendar and celebrities and sporting icons travelling from across the globe to soak up the unmissable tennis action.

From Hollywood stars to sporting icons, Glastonbury headliners and familiar faces in the tennis world, let’s take a look at some of the famous faces who have visited Wimbledon so far this year.

Famous faces from the entertainment world 

From the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival to the Royal Box at SW19 - Olivia Rodrigo headlined the Royal Box on day three of the tournament as she enjoyed an afternoon of tennis alongside her partner Louis Partridge.

Throughout the week, we saw some other familiar faces including Academy Award nominee Richard E GrantPriyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas, actors Glen Powell and Andrew Garfield, the legendary Sir Ian McKellen and professional wrestler John Cena.

Sporting stars 

They say game recognises game and that was evident in the number of sporting icons that were spotted on Centre Court and around the All England Club this fortnight.

Amongst the names were professional boxer Anthony Joshua, Britain's most decorated diver Tom Daley, Dame Kelly Holmes, Sir David Beckham, former Engand football managers Sir Gareth Southgate and Roy Hodgson CBE.

Tennis icons

While their professional tennis careers might have come to an end, there's just no keeping former tennis stars away from SW19. 

Former world No.1 and eight-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer returned to the court where he claimed the most success throughout his career. The Swiss star hauled eight of his 20 Grand Slam titles on the grass in South West London and was enjoying being back on Centre Court to watch the action unfold.

Meanwhile, tennis icon Billie Jean King and former US Open champion Andy Roddick were also in attendance. 

 

Plenty more famiiliar faces have swapped out the day job for a day at the tennis this fornight  - including astronaut Tim Peake, physicist Brian Cox, survivalist Bear Grylls and comedian Jack Whitehall who attended alongside professional football player Anthony Gordon.

There were more laughs on day eight with Michael McIntyre and Lenny Henry sitting together in the Royal Box.

Elsewhere, there was baking royalty as Mary Berry watched the action on Centre Court, as well as actual royalty with Princess Beatrice of York, the Duchess of York and Frederik X King of Denmark all enjoying the tennis at SW19.
