• 2 MINUTE READ

There’s just no stopping all-British duo Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool who have sealed their second title in just five days at the Lexus Eastbourne Open.

The Brits defeated Ariel Behar and Joran Vliegen 6-4, 7-6(5) to make it back-to-back trophies on the grass.

Cash and Glasspool have made the final in their last three tournament together - finishing runners-up at the Libema Open and making history at The Queen’s Club by becoming the first all-British pair to win the HSBC Championships men’s doubles crown in the Open Era.

Their run to the ATP 250 title in Eastbourne sees them cap off an impressive run on the grass and will prove invaluable ahead of their campaign for the Wimbledon title which will get underway in just a few days time.

“Thanks to Lloyd, (it’s been a) crazy three weeks for us," Cash said in his on-court interview. "We’ve gone three finals in a row, I feel like I haven’t had a minute to breathe.

“This is one of the best run (ATP) 250’s on tour and I genuinely mean it. Thanks to all the volunteers, everyone that makes it possible, the laundry, ball kids, transport, all of it. It's a fantastic week, and I know many people look forward to it every year.”

“Last but not least, you guys (the crowd) are unreal. To have a packed stadium today - this is the tournament that I fell in love with tennis at, so to be out here picking up a trophy is a very surreal moment. So thanks to all you guys for coming out and supporting us means a lot.”

"I want a second what Julian said," Glasspool added. "You guys coming out being so loud and supportive, it really feels like a home tournament. It's amazing to play in such a great atmosphere, so we really do appreciate it"

The third seeds were the first to find the breakthrough in Friday's men's doubles final at Devonshire Park - as they converted on their fifth break point opportunity of the set to comfortably take a one set lead.

Cash and Glasspool continued to ask the quetion of the Uruguian, Belgian duo digging up a further five opportunities in the second but failed to take their chances as the set headed into a tie-break.

There, it was Behar and Vliegen who made the better start as they opened up a 4-2 lead before the Brits responded to re-claim the mini-break. Edging closer to the chance of clinching back-to-back titles, Cash and Glasspool went full steam ahead -  winning four of the last five points to seal victory in Eastbourne.

Cash and Glasspool will now turn their attention to The Championships, Wimbledon where they will open their campaign against Dutch singles stars Tallon Griekspoor and Botic Van de Zandschulp.
