Lexus Nottingham Open 2026: Harriet Dart & Maia Lumsden clinch women’s doubles title
• 2 minute read
Britain’s Harriet Dart and Maia Lumsden have been crowned women’s doubles champions at the Lexus Nottingham Open after securing a straight sets victory in the final.
The all-British duo faced a seeded duo for the third consecutive match in a row when they took on second seeds Chan Hao-ching & Shuko Aoyama. The Brits produced a confident display to win 6-3, 6-4 in an hour and 20 minutes.
The Brits broke their opponents four times across the match and staved off a late comeback from the Taiwanese, Japanese pair in the second set to clinch the WTA 250 title.
Today’s final marked a third for Dart and Lumsden, who picked up the W100 Fujairah trophy at the end of January. However, today’s title marked their first at a WTA tour-level as a partnership.
“Thank you to my partner Harriet,” said doubles specialist Lumsden. “It’s been an amazing week, to get our first tour title together, we lost the final in Birmingham a couple of weeks ago so it's great to go a step further. I always love playing with you and hopefully we can keep it going at Wimbledon.”
“It’s so nice to play on this court in front of so many people all week - I think the stands were full every day in our match so it's such a nice feeling as that doesn’t happen every week, especially in doubles so thank you for coming.”

The British duo will be hoping to continue their winning streak as they switch their focus to Wimbledon in just over a weeks’ time where they’ll team up once again on the doubles court.
Before then, they’ll be making sure they soak up every moment of their victory, which feels all the more sweeter for being won on home turf.
“I think this is our third tournament this year,” Dart added. “To be able to finally pick up the trophy at a tour-level event is pretty special - especially being on home soil, it definitely makes it a little extra special.
“I’ve personally been coming here for many many years so it’s great to finally pick up the trophy, especially with one of my best friends - it’s just amazing.”
Both pairs took a few games to settle into the contest, but it was Dart and Lumsden who found their rhythm first, making their move in the seventh game.
A double fault from Aoyama handed the Brits a break point, which Dart converted with an assertive volley down the middle, before going on to close out the set as the Japanese star dumped a volley into the net.
The British duo stayed on the front foot in the second, racing into a 5-1 lead over the second seeds to move within one game of the title.
However, Hao-ching and Aoyama threatened a comeback, recovering one of the two breaks as Lumsden stepped up to serve for the match. They pushed to 30-30 at 5-4, but an ace from Dart brought up a third match point before Lumsden put away a volley at the net to seal the trophy.
