The best moments from the WTA event at HSBC Championships
• 3 MINUTE READ
Just like that, the first week of the HSBC Championships has come to an end as we close the chapter on the first women’s event at The Queen’s Club since 1973.
It was a tournament to remember, and we’re here to take a final look at the action. From our favourite photo, to quotes of the week and a moment you might’ve missed, we’re here to break down all of the best bits from this year’s WTA 500 event at the HSBC Championships.
Photo of the Week
The HSBC Championships has long been one of the most historic tennis events on the ATP circuit, and after 52 years, The Queen's Club finally welcomed the long-awaited return of women's tennis.
It's safe to say it was a week to remember. With over 62,000 tickets sold and distributed - one of the highest attendances for a standalone WTA event anywhere on tour - the crowds were out in full force to celebrate elite women's tennis making its way back to West London.
Storyline of the week
From qualifier to champion - Sunday saw us crown our first women’s champion at Queen’s for over five decades and what a moment it was.
Tatjana Maria wrote her name into the history as came through qualifying to eventually beat world No.15 Amanda Anisimvoa 6-3, 6-4 in the final to clinch the silverware.
Watch back the moment where Maria sealed the biggest title of her career.

Since hanging up his racket almost a year ago, Andy Murray has dipped his toe into the coaching scene but the former world No.1 might have found himself embarking on a new career path.
Ahead of opening the Andy Murray Arena at the HSBC Championships, the three-time Grand Slam champion took on a new role as members of the public had 60 seconds to ask him one life question.
From fitness goals to friendship fallouts, awkward date clashes to annual leave dilemmas, 'Agony Andy' gave his unfiltered take on real-life problems from attendees.
Shot of the week
Fiery forehands, blistering backhands and sensational drop-shots - we really have seen it all this week.
There were plenty of contenders to take home the ‘winner of the week’ title but Amanda Anisimova's running forehand winner in her match against Emma Navarro stood out as one of the clear highlights of the week.

This week, we celebrated the historic return of women’s tennis to The Queen’s Club and launched the next phase of our She Rallies ambition
If you’re not familiar with it, our ‘She Rallies’ ambition reflects our goal of making tennis and padel in Great Britain gender equal sports. The strategy was first launched in 2022 but we are now ready to embark on the next phase of the plan that was officially launched at an event in collaboration with Sue Anstiss and the Women’s Sport Collective.
The event brought together around 60 senior sport leaders to reflect on progress and explore how to boost visibility, participation, and female representation in the industry.
Moment to remember
The HSBC Championships gave fans a fantastic storyline to follow across the week as Britain's two highest ranked players Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter teamed up for the first time in the doubles draw.
The all-British duo captured the attention of British fans both watching live and following from home, as they wrapped up a victory on their team debut.
The pair eased to a comprehensive win over Xinyu Jiang and Fang-Hsien Wu 6-4, 6-2 to send British fans into a frenzy. Their journey came to an end in the second round after losing out to top seeds Lyudmyla Kichenok and Erin Routliffe.
They may have left London without the HSBC Championships trophy, but we're confident this isn't the last we'll see of 'Boultercanu' on the doubles court.
Quote of the week
Brazil's Beatriz Haddad Maia was one of many players who were soaking up the experience of competing at The Queen's Club for the first time.
A two-time winner on the surface, Haddad Maia got to tick yet another iconic grass court tournament off the bucketlist and expressed her gratitude of being able to play there following her first round win over Petra Kvitova on the Andy Murray Arena.
This club is very special and it means a lot to me to be on this stadium in front of everyone who loves tennis – it’s very special to play here for the first time.
What’s next
While the women’s event has come to a conclusion, we’re now turning our attention to the return of our ATP stars as the men’s event gets underway on Monday 16 June through to Sunday 22 June.
