US Open 2026: Neal Skupski & Christian Harrison seal men’s doubles title

Neal Skupski and Christian Harrison are the new US Open men’s doubles champions – adding a second Grand Slam title in their first season together.
Skupski and Harrison battled past sixth seeds Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz 6-4, 7-6(5) in the final.
They are only the sixth team in the Open Era to win the Australian Open and US Open in the same year.
The British-American also became the third team in history to win the US Open men’s doubles title without dropping a set.
Skupski had lost his previous two US Open finals in 2022 and 2025, but it was third time lucky for the 36-year-old, who clinched the third major title of his career (Wimbledon 2023 and Australian Open 2026).
He is the only British player to win three Grand Slam men’s doubles titles at three different events.

It was only fitting that Skupski would receive the title in the presentation from his former teammate and 2016 champion, Jamie Murray.
“I don’t know what to say – I’m still in shock,” Skupski said. “Losing twice and having match points in the final, it was tough part of my career. It’s amazing what a year does in tennis.
“This moment right now feels so special, thank you to everybody.”
Harrison added, “It’s been a great year to get two titles like this. To do it at home, I’m speechless.”
This was the fifth time in six years that a British player had featured in the US Open men’s doubles final, and Skupski came out determined to get his hands on the title for the first time.
At 3-3 in the first set, Skupski set up the team’s first break point before Harrison struck a laser backhand winner down the line to edge in front.
Having taken the first set, Skupski and Harrison grew in confidence but saw a key break opportunity come and go at 4-4 in the second set.
The tie-break saw several twists and turns from start to finish. In a run of six mini-breaks, Skupski and Harrison missed the chance to serve for it, and the German team lost a set point on serve as well.
After the change of ends at 6-6, Puetz fired a forehand off the frame into the stands, giving Harrison the chance to serve with championship point.
After missing three championship points in last year’s final, it was only fitting that Skupski would be the one to put away a clean volley winner to seal the title.
British players have now won three of the four Grand Slams on offer this season, with British representation in all three.
