Roland Garros 2026: Jacob Fearnley on course to face Jannik Sinner while Katie Boulter draws wild card

• 2 minute read

The singles draws have been announced for Roland Garros 2026, with six British players set to get underway from Sunday 24 May.

Jacob Fearnley will take on Argentina’s Juan Manuel Cerundolo in the opening round. A victory would set up potential second-round clash with world No.1 Jannik Sinner, provided the Italian comes through his opener against French wild card Clement Tabur.

Fearnley reached the third round in Paris last year and will be hoping for another deep run on the clay.

Women’s singles

Men’s singles

Emma Raducanu (GBR) vs Solana Sierra (ARG)

Cam Norrie (GBR) vs Adolfo Daniel Vallejo (PRY)

Katie Boulter (GBR) vs Akasha Urhobo (USA) (wild card)

Jacob Fearnley (GBR) vs Juan Manuel Cerundolo (AEG)

Francesca Jones vs Beatriz Haddad Maia (BRA)

Toby Samuel (GBR) vs TBC

20th seed Cam Norrie will look to deliver another strong showing on the Paris clay as he prepares to face Adolfo Daniel Vallejo in the first round.

British No.1 Norrie made the fourth round last year – narrowly missing out on a spot in the quarter-finals to 24 time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic.

Meanwhile, Toby Samuel came through qualifying to reach the main draw of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career. He will learn his first round opponent following the conclusion of the qualifying rounds on Friday 22 May.

On the women’s side, Emma Raducanu has been drawn against Argentina’s Solana Sierra in their first career meeting.

A win could see her face 2024 runner-up and 13th seed Jasmine Poalini in the second round.

Raducanu made her return to the match court this week in Strasbourg, following a period away from the game to recover from a viral illness.. There, she lost out in a tight encounter against France’s Diane Parry but will be aiming to close out the clay court season strongly in Paris.

Francesca Jones will take on former world No.10 Beatriz Haddad Maia in what will mark her main draw debut at Roland Garros.

Jones could pose a significant challenge for Haddad Maia, having won all 11 of her career titles on the clay. Last year, Jones lifted the biggest titles of her career to date at the WTA 125 events in Contrexville and Palermo.

Should she win on her debut, she’ll face either 27th seed Marie Bouzkova or a qualifier.

Katie Boulter will meet American wild card Akasha Urhobo in the opening round and will look to record another tournament best performance on the dirt.

Boulter enjoyed a breakthrough on the clay last summer when she won her first title on the surface at the WTA 125 event at the Trophee Clarins and recorded her first main draw win at Roland Garros.

If Boulter wins her first round match against Urhobo, will face a tricky opponent in either reigning Lexus Eastbourne Open champion Maya Joint or 28th seed Anastasia Potapova.

Roland Garros gets underway from Sunday 24 May until Sunday 7 May. You can watch all the action live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
