Billie Jean King Cup 2026: Great Britain draw Czechia in quarter-finals

The Lexus Great Britain Billie Jean King Cup team have been drawn against Czechia in the quarter-finals in Shenzhen, China.
The Billie Jean King Cup Finals – taking place from 22-27 September – will bring together the top eight qualifying nations for the final rounds of the women’s World Cup of tennis.
Second seeds Great Britain will play Czechia, before a potential clash with either fourth seeds Spain or Kazakhstan in the semi-finals.

All ties will be played as a best-of-three matches – including two singles followed by one doubles match.
Great Britain have made the semi-finals in three of the last four seasons and recently qualified for this year’s Finals after an upset victory over Australia.
Singles victories for Harriet Dart and debutant Mika Stojsavljevic set the tone for an historic away win over the Aussies.
Czechia are 11-time champions in the competition, including an era of dominance in the 2010s, where they won six titles in eight years.
In qualifying, they defeated Switzerland 3-2, thanks to wins from Linda Noskova and Marie Bouzkova.
Czechia currently leads the head-to-head with Great Britain 4-3. Their most recent tie came in 2022 Qualifiers with the Czechs winning 3-2.
