Tennis Scotland Tour: Domestic tour relaunched with competition for all ages & bumper prize money

• 4 MINUTE READ

Tennis Scotland today announces the launch of a new-look domestic tour which offers competitive opportunities for players of all ages and bumper prize money supported by sponsorship.

The revamped calendar will bring together three existing tours – the top-level TS Open Tour, the second-tier TS Challenge Tour, and the TS Junior Tour for under 16s – to form the overarching brand name Tennis Scotland Tour and create a single structure designed to provide players with a pathway to a life in tennis.

Prize money totalling almost £100,000 will be available to players on the TS Open Tour thanks to the generosity of a sponsor who is committed to supporting the growth and development of Scottish tennis. A broadcasting partner has also been secured to maximise exposure of the Tour among current and new audiences.

The Tennis Scotland Tour will kick-off in January 2026, bringing together dozens of existing and historic tournaments run by local organisers at clubs and venues around Scotland, as well as a series of Scottish national championships.

Players on each step of the Tour will continue to compete for Leaderboard ranking points, with the season culminating in December at a ‘masters-style’ Finals featuring the year’s best performers. At the TS Open Tour Finals, 16 men and women will compete for a £10,000 prize pot, while the TS Challenge Tour Finals and TS Junior Tour Finals will each consist of 8-player draws.

A number of previous winners on the Tour have reinvested their prize money to help drive their careers on the international stage. ATP and WTA top 100 players Jacob Fearnley and Maia Lumsden, as well as Hamish Stewart, Ewen Lumsden and Scott Duncan, who compete all-year round on the ATP and ITF tours, are among those to have won events on the TS Open Tour since it was established in 2018.

Many others have gone on to become part of the highly valued Scottish tennis workforce as coaches or officials, while still competing on court in national, regional and club events – meeting a key goal of the Tour by keeping participants involved in tennis throughout their lives and enjoying the many health and wellbeing benefits that come from the sport.

Tennis Scotland are also delighted to confirm a three-year partnership with sports broadcasting consultancy PlayVision Sports Broadcasting to maximise exposure of the Tour to wider audiences, beginning with the 2025 season-ending TS Open Tour Finals, which will be broadcast live on Premier Sports from Scotstoun Indoor Tennis Centre in Glasgow on Tuesday 16 December.

Blane Dodds, Chief Executive of Tennis Scotland, said: “Thanks to the generosity of our sponsor and the hard work of everyone committed to delivering these events, the Tennis Scotland Tour will drive up playing standards and help keep more people in the game.

“We want tennis to be accessible to everyone, and the Tour will play a key role in bringing more people into our sport and providing a pathway for competitive tennis on home soil.”

Mike Cohen, Head of Competitions & Events at Tennis Scotland, said: "The TS Open Tour has been a great success over many years, and we’re delighted to be opening it up to more players by adding the TS Challenge and TS Junior Tours.

“I want to thank the hard-working organisers who put on fantastic events up and down the country and will help ensure the Tennis Scotland Tour provides opportunities for players, coaches, officials and the rest of the tennis community.”
