Lumsden wins on pro tour, as Fryer & Prisadnikova start TS Open Tour season in style

Maia Lumsden was in sparking form as she picked up her first title of the year on the pro tour.
Lumsden teamed up with fellow Great Britain Billie Jean King Cup player Harriet Dart to clinch the W100 event in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates.
The duo, who went into the week as second seeds, cruised through the draw without dropping a set in four matches.
It was a familiar face on the other side of the net for Lumsden in the final, as she and Dart beat her fellow Scottish National Doubles champion Isabelle Haverlag and Elena Pridankina 6-1, 6-0.
Lumsden and Haverlag will be back on the same side this week as they travel together to compete on the WTA Tour in Ostrava.
Fryer and Prisadnikova win on TS Open Tour
Cameron Fryer and Teodora Prisadnikova picked up the first titles of the season on the new-look Tennis Scotland Open Tour.
The Open Tour is the top-level of the new Tennis Scotland Tour, which offers competitive opportunities for players of all ages all year round across the country.
Fryer and Prisadnikova were in top form at the Lexus British Tour Stirling event, held at the University of Stirling.
In the men’s event, Fryer got his hands on the trophy without dropping a set all week, including a comprehensive 6-0, 6-0 win over Kyle McKay in the semi-finals, before clinching the title by beating Liam Hignett in the final 6-2. 7-6.
Prisadnikova faced her toughest test of the week in the last eight of the women’s event, coming from a set down to beat Swasthika Arunkumar 4-6, 6-3, 10-4, before wrapping up victory with a 6-2, 7-6 win over Mille Haagensen in the final.
Broom sweeps up in Glasgow
Charles Broom enjoyed a fantastic week as the ITF World Tennis Tour returned to Scotstoun for the Lexus British Pro-Series Glasgow, picking up both the singles and doubles titles at the M25 event.
Top seed Broom lived up to his ranking in the singles, beating fellow British players James Beaven, Henry Searle and Giles Hussey en route to beating Lui Maxted 6-4, 6-1 in the final.
He teamed up with Hussey in the doubles, with the second seeds beating top seeds Tom Hands and Harry Wendelken in the final 3-6, 6-3, 10-8.
