Major Event Volunteers in Tennis

2017 Aegon Open Nottingham Volunteer Team

Volunteers have a strong presence at most of our Major Events, transforming them into unforgettable experiences for players and fans alike, with their boundless energy and enthusiasm for tennis.

Opportunities to volunteer will vary from year to year but the following tournaments often have an open-recruitment process:

  • Nature Valley International, Eastbourne (a small number of roles available)
  • Nature Valley Classic, Birmingham
  • Nature Valley Open, Nottingham
  • Fuzion 100 Manchester Trophy
  • Fuzion 100 Ilkley Trophy
  • Fuzion 100 Surbiton Trophy
  • Davis Cup & Fed Cup ties (Limited roles available. Venue dependent)
  • British Open Wheelchair Tennis Championships

Opportunities to volunteer at these events are usually advertised on the LTA website three to four months before each event. 

W25 Sunderland

Sunderland Tennis Centre, Silksworth Sports Complex, Silksworth Lane, Sunderland, SR3 1PD
Sunday 7 - Sunday 14 April 2019
8.00am to 3.00pm or 3.00pm to close of play

We are looking to assemble a super-friendly volunteer team to help with the driving during the forthcoming Men’s and Ladies professional tennis tournament at The Sunderland Tennis Centre. You don’t need any previous tennis or volunteering experience to be involved but bags of enthusiasm and a passion for helping others is a must!

You will most likely be driving a 17 seater minibus and so you must be comfortable driving a vehicle of this size plus, have a clean driving licence with a D1 category and be aged between 25 and 70. A knowledge of the Sunderland area would be advantageous! In return, we will provide you with a daily meal allowance and plenty of opportunities to watch top class tennis! 

Role - Driving players, coaches and officials between the official tournament hotel and / or train station and tennis centre.

British Open Wheelchair Tennis Championships

Want to get close to the action this summer and be amongst Grand Slam and Paralympic Champions? 

We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers to make this event an unforgettable experience for players, officials, sponsors and spectators. We have lots of opportunities for you to get involved and help the event run successfully!

General Volunteer: help with ticket desk, stewarding, accreditation checks and more.
Volunteer Driver: player airport pickups and daily shuttle runs, you need a valid D1 driving licence.

As a volunteer you will be provided with lunch and afternoon tea each day, as well as an event t-shirt and sweatshirt.

Ilkley Trophy

The Ilkley Trophy is a distinguished men’s and women’s tournament where the top tennis stars from around the world come to compete in both singles and doubles.

It’s that time of year again and we NEED YOU! Keen, enthusiastic and passionate volunteers. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved. We need Drivers, Clubhouse assistants, Stand stewards, Ticket & Programme, Admin and more. So if you can spare any time, please email volunteers@iltsc.co.uk for further details or we encourage people to view the volunteer information form and complete the volunteer application form to apply. 

Deadline for applications is 31st March.

Surbiton Trophy

From 3 - 9 June 2019 the LTA is hosting a week-long international tennis tournament at the Surbiton Racket and Fitness Club. The tournament, the Surbiton Trophy, will combine a women’s ITF World Tennis Tour $100k event with a men’s ATP Challenger Tour 125 event, allowing spectators to see high level men’s and women’s tennis in the same week.

We have an established volunteer programme with a variety of roles available. We welcome friendly, fun and enthusiastic volunteers to support the delivery of the event, and encourage interested people to view the volunteer information form, and complete the volunteer application form by 12 April.
