The LTA Tennis Foundation is governed by a Board who are responsible for defining the strategy of our charity.
Its composition and powers are determined by the Articles of Association and currently LTA Operations Ltd is the sole member.
Meet the Board
Tim's currently the Chief Executive of SportsAid, having joined the charity in 2004 after a seven-year spell as Managing Director at Saracens Rugby Club. SportsAid provides recognition, financial support and personal development opportunities to young sports people. The charity also manages the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS), helping aspiring athletes in higher and further education, and the ground-breaking Backing the Best Scheme, which provides extra help to those talented athletes facing severe financial hardship – both are flagship programmes of Sport England’s Talent Strategy.
At Saracens, Tim created the award-winning Saracens Community Programme and was a founding Trustee of the innovative Saracens Foundation. He also served for 10 years as a trustee of the Sylvia Adams Charitable Trust, a £12m grant-making charity based in Hertfordshire.
Tim is actively involved in the fabric of British sport, having been chairman of the ProActive Camden Sports Partnership, a member of the British Athletes Commission advisory group and currently a member of Sport England’s Talent Inclusion Advisory Group. In 2022 Tim was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for Services to Sport for Young People.
Cynthia Muller has 30 years of experience in financial markets, having worked at JP Morgan as Vice-President from 1982 to 1997 and Morgan Stanley as Managing Director of Wealth Management from 1997 until 2013. She provided family office coverage as a Partner at Cheyne Capital from 2014-2021. Presently, she's a Partner at Haven Green where she scenes best-of-breed sustainable portfolio managers and advises institutional investors.
For the last 25 years, she's been a London-based investment advisor to foundations, family offices and pension funds based primarily in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Greece and the Middle East. Cynthia is a member of The Investment Committee of a major church endowment in the USA, serves on the board of a Swiss Family Office, and is a Trustee of Education for Employment (Washington, D.C). She earned a BA from Cornell University and an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management. Cynthia was treasurer of the previous Tennis Foundation and has been a member of the Board since 2015.
Hitesh joined the Coalition as Executive Director in April 2022 after almost two decades working in UK Civil Service where a large part of his career focused on sport at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). As Head of International Sport, Major Sports Events and Sports Integrity, he oversaw the UK’s engagement in international sport policy and represented the UK in various intergovernmental and multilateral settings. He played a leading role in the development of the ‘International Partnership against Corruption in Sport’ (IPACS) in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and other international sports organisations, and helped develop the first UK Code for Sports Governance working with Sport England and UK Sport.
Hitesh, originally from West Bromwich, led the UK Government’s support for hosting a number of major sports events following the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, including the 2013 Rugby League World Cup, 2014 Tour de France Grand Depart, 2015 Rugby World Cup, 2017 IAAF and IPC World Championships, 2019 UCI Road World Championships and UEFA Euro 2020. Hitesh holds a number of voluntary roles, including Chair of Sport 4 Life UK and trustee of the Albion Foundation, the charitable arm of West Bromwich Albion Football Club. He is Rapporteur to UNESCO’s International Convention against Doping in Sport, a member of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) Governance Task Force, and also chaired WADA’s Independent Observer team at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
Alex is co-founder of Mustard Seed, an investment firm that backs visionary entrepreneurs on a mission to solve global challenges in the areas of economic inclusion, education, environmental sustainability, family/community and health. Alex is a trustee of the Bridges Impact Foundation and a Senior Advisor to GALLOS, an investment firm focused on security technology companies. Within the Mustard Seed portfolio, he's on the Boards of Switchee (social housing energy efficiency) and AtoCap (targeted treatment of UTI's).
Formerly Alex was Senior Vice President at Mubadala, a sovereign investment company in Abu Dhabi, Project Leader with The Boston Consulting Group in New York, Chicago and Dubai, and an Investment Banking Analyst with Goldman Sachs in London. Alex received a BSc degree from the London School of Economics and an MBA from Stanford. Alex and his wife Alyson, a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse from Mississippi, have three young sons and live in Surrey. All five love tennis!
Born is the hugely successful CEO and Founder of Our Parks, which provides free group exercise in parks and outdoor spaces, working in partnership with local authorities. Starting with the aim of getting 500 people #FitForFree within the founding borough of Waltham Forest, he has grown Our Parks to cover all London and branching out to core cities and towns across the UK, with over 1000 coaches and 250,000+ Parkers (users). Born wants to get 1,000,000 Parkers fit by 2025. His aim is to create a mass user, sustainable model for free fitness in the future to spread the positive life-changing effects, as he knows first-hand that sport, fitness and teamwork can have a beneficial impact on an individual’s health.
He has additionally built a brilliant NED career over the past few years, including roles with the LTA, Active Surrey, the British Olympic Foundation and British Universities and Colleges Sport.
Chris holds a portfolio of roles including Head of Philanthropy at The Charity Service, Research Associate at the Institute for Voluntary Action Research (IVAR) and co-owner and director of Bayfirth Research.
Chris started his career as a chartered accountant with Deloitte and has since performed various financial and leadership roles in the charity sector, including as Chief Executive of the Racing Foundation. He has a PhD in the Organisational Sociology of Voluntary Associations and an MSc in Voluntary and Community Sector Studies. Chris is a keen hillwalker and football supporter in his free time.
Sandi joined the Board on 6 January 2017 as a Council-elected Non-Executive Director and then became LTA Deputy President in January 2020.
Sandi represented Kent on the LTA Council before she became Deputy President; she sits on the Kent LTA Board and has been involved in a wide range of Kent activities and projects for over 25 years. Sandi is a Trustee of The LTA Trust as well as being a member of the Development Tennis Advisory Group and the Board Nominations Committee. She is also a member of the Tennis Europe Development Committee and the ITF Olympic Committee.
Sandi is a former PE teacher turned tennis coach and has a particular passion for mini tennis. She created the Mini Tennis Red, Orange and Green programme and the Tennis Leaders Programme for the LTA, with resources, training materials and delivery to British coaches.
Simon joined the LTA as Finance Director in October 2016. He's an LTA Tennis Foundation trustee, a member of the Investment Advisory Group and is also responsible for the LTA’s legal and technology departments. Simon has over 15 years' experience in the sports industry across a number of different organisations. Prior to joining the LTA, Simon was Head of Finance and Business Development at Team Sky, and spent 15 years at Sky prior to that leading finance teams to support business areas including marketing, technology and Sky Sports. Simon is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, having trained and qualified with KPMG.
Currently Participation Director, Olly has been with LTA since 2004, working across tennis programmes and supporting commercial tennis operators, as well as now managing participation, competitions and safeguarding departments. Joining the Executive Team in 2014, Olly was responsible for overseeing the operations of major events, including pre-Wimbledon events in Nottingham, Birmingham and Eastbourne, as well as the Davis and Federation Cups and the calendar of international and national tournaments.
