Part-time Tennis Coach - Carshalton LTC
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic Tennis Instructor (level 2) who is looking to develop their coaching career. You will work alongside the Head Coach to maintain and develop the established coaching programme.
There is some flexibility around the number of hours available so we welcome applications from those looking for some more work and experience (on top of work they already have) as well as those looking for an entirely new role; please do not hesitate to get in touch to discuss your circumstances.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to coach both juniors and adults of all ages and abilities at Carshalton Lawn Tennis Club and in a number of local schools. The schoolwork is in both curriculum time and after school. There is high demand for individual lessons, so you will also be able to build your own client base once you have the next level of qualification.
During the school holidays, there is a very busy and successful holiday course programme, which runs in the mornings. In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to run junior match play sessions and other group activities.
Carshalton Lawn Tennis Club was first established in 1912 and the Head Coach has been in post for 30 years. There are 7 courts (3 clay, 2 hard and 2 artificial grass) with 4 of them currently floodlit.
The club has a really strong social scene and a welcoming atmosphere and is well known in the area. It is closely connected to a number of local schools which continues to provide a constant flow of new members to the club.
The ideal candidate should have:
Appropriate and up to date Coach accreditation to a minimum level 2 Tennis Instructor qualification, working towards or wanting to work towards a level 3 Coach qualification. This accreditation should include a valid DBS, safeguarding and first-aid certification.
Some experience of delivering high-quality and enjoyable group lessons to all ages and standards.
Excellent communication skills.
A general love for coaching the game of tennis.
The ideal candidate will be:
Reliable, punctual, hardworking, and organised and able to work within our current coaching team.
Engaging, enthusiastic and easily approachable to both our current and potential new members.
Looking to assist in maintaining a safe, inclusive, welcoming tennis club.
