Whalley Range is a fantastically warm community club looking for an inspired coach interested in player development/performance.

Over the last 4-5 years a level 4 coach has done a great job at developing a performance programme for juniors aged 5-14 allowing them to play 2/3+ times a week with a handful of teenagers now competing regularly at county level and training in adult squads. He has now become head coach and is now looking for somebody to help with this part of the programme.

The applicant must have SOME experience working in these areas and/or have a real passion in inspiring mini tennis players to play more/compete and improve.

The ages groups you will be working with will mostly red ball through to 14u, however the candidate must be comfortable working with high level adult club players as Whalley Range has 6 adult teams that compete regularly. Because of this some playing experience would be preferable.

The applicant would be working closely with head coach and mentoring will be provided depending on experience, however if the successful candidate already has experience autonomy to implement their own philosophies and vision for the programme will be granted!

Due to the role being open to a range of experience, pay per hour can be discussed but will be no lower than 22+ her hour.

Currently there are around 17-20 hours of squads (however there is some flexibility in discussing timetable) please note not all of these are performance. There will be unlimited access to book courts at the club with no charge for the coach to do private lessons. There may be scope to run some private squads but this will be dependant on experience.

We are looking for someone to get involved as soon as possible with the latest start date being January 2027.

Whalley Range is a very popular/friendly community club in the South of Manchester.

It has 3 floodlit hard courts due to be resurfaced in spring of 2027.

It has a cricket club attached with a bar and summer times are especially social at the club.

The people create an amazing atmosphere and it is a wonderful place to spend your free time as well as work!

The applicant must have a real passion for what they are doing and wanting to help people.

This is show through amazing communication with players, parents, club members and committee members.

Creating a warm atmosphere and building relationships is just as important as the coaching on court as Whalley Range is firstly and most importantly a community club.

This will be considered in the interview process with the same regard as coaching experience!
