Role Overview
Tennis England Club is seeking an ambitious, experienced, and commercially minded Head Tennis Professional to lead the delivery, management, and growth of its tennis programme at Bushy Park Sports Club, Teddington.
This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for coaching delivery, programme development, player pathways, coach management, and venue operations. The successful candidate will be expected not only to maintain high coaching standards but also to actively grow participation and establish a thriving coaching programme.
A key objective of the role is to develop the coaching programme to a minimum of 35 coaching hours per week, comprising junior, adult, individual, and community tennis activity, while creating sustainable long-term growth opportunities for the venue.
The Head Tennis Professional will act as the primary point of contact between members, parents, the venue, and the Tennis England Club central office, ensuring exceptional customer service and a positive club experience.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
Programme Development & Growth
•Take overall responsibility for the growth and success of the Bushy Park Sports Club tennis programme.
•Develop and implement a clear programme growth strategy to establish and maintain a minimum of 35 coaching hours per week.
•Increase participation across all coaching products, including junior groups, adult coaching, private lessons, holiday camps, competitions, and outreach initiatives.
•Identify opportunities to attract new players and improve player retention.
•Work collaboratively with Tennis England Club management to achieve agreed participation and revenue targets.
Coaching & Programme Delivery
•Deliver high-quality group and individual tennis coaching sessions for players of all ages and abilities.
•Lead and oversee the junior coaching programme, creating clear player development pathways from beginner through to performance levels.
•Deliver and develop engaging adult coaching programmes designed to increase participation and retention.
•Plan and deliver structured sessions that support technical, tactical, physical, and mental player development.
•Ensure all coaching activities are delivered in accordance with Tennis England Club standards and LTA best practice.
Leadership & Team Management
•Have overall responsibility for the coaching team operating at Bushy Park Sports Club.
•Recruit, manage, mentor, and support assistant coaches as the programme grows.
•Ensure consistency, professionalism, and quality across all coaching activities.
•Foster a positive coaching culture focused on player development, customer experience, and continuous improvement.
Communication & Relationship Management
•Act as the primary point of contact for parents, guardians, members, and participants.
•Manage communications professionally and respond to enquiries, feedback, and concerns in a timely manner.
•Maintain strong working relationships with Bushy Park Sports Club management and Tennis England Club's central office.
•Attend meetings as reasonably required in connection with the role.
Club & Site Management
•Support the day-to-day operation of the tennis programme, including scheduling, court allocation, and staffing.
•Assist with the planning and delivery of tournaments, competitions, holiday camps, social events, and promotional activities.
•Contribute to initiatives that enhance the overall member and player experience.
•Ensure coaching equipment and facilities are maintained to an appropriate standard.
Administration, Compliance & Safeguarding
•Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and Tennis England Club policies and procedures.
•Maintain all required qualifications and certifications, including DBS, safeguarding, and first aid.
•Complete administrative tasks, programme reporting, and planning requirements as required.
•Adhere to all relevant LTA and Tennis England Club standards, codes of conduct, and operational procedures.

Essential Requirements
* LTA Level 3 Accredited Coach (minimum) or higher.
* Proven experience delivering high-quality coaching programmes for both junior and adult players.
* Demonstrable experience growing tennis participation and building successful coaching programmes.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, manage, and support other coaches.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build positive relationships with members, parents, venue management, and colleagues.
* A customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering an exceptional player and member experience.
* Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
* A passion for player development and community tennis.
* Current DBS, safeguarding, and first aid qualifications (or willingness to obtain/maintain).
### Desirable Requirements
* LTA Level 4 Senior Club Coach (or higher).
* Previous experience as a Head Coach, Head Professional, or Tennis Programme Manager.
* Experience recruiting, mentoring, and managing coaching teams.
* Experience developing junior performance pathways and adult participation programmes.
* Knowledge of LTA venue development frameworks and best practice.
* Experience organising competitions, events, holiday camps, and community outreach programmes.
