The glass is predictable, but players don’t always believe us when we tell them. This course is written to help you empower them to defend, rally, and attack using the glass. You’ll take away drills from Iciar Montes, former world no. 1 player and Spanish National Women’s team coach and Jo Ward, the LTA’s Head of Education and Qualification Pathways with over 25 years of coaching experience.  

During the course, you’ll: 

• Learn how to teach the predictability of the glass in a way that makes your players feel empowered at the back of the court 
• Discover how and when to counterattack from the back of the court 
• Master the strategic uses of the lob 
• Learn panic-free ways for your players to stay in the point after losing the net 

Mastering the Back is designed for padel coaches who want to expand their tactical and technical understanding of the game —and confidently pass that knowledge on to their players.

Virtus Leisure Management is an approved LTA Workforce Development Centre, delivering LTA coaching qualifications, including Assistant, Instructor, Padel Instructor, and Level 3 Coach. Our main hub, Bromley Tennis Centre, is an official LTA Regional Player Development Centre (RPDC) and hosts major events including the Kent County Championships and a range of national and regional competitions.
