The Rolex Shanghai Masters is back for the first time since 2019, with the world's best ATP stars preparing to head to China for the penultimate Masters 1000 event of the year.

When is Rolex Shanghai Masters 2023?

Qualifying for this year’s Shanghai Masters will take place between Monday 2 October and Tuesday 3 October.

Main draw action will get underway on Wednesday 4 October, with the singles and doubles finals taking place on Sunday 15 October.

Matches will start from 05:30 UK time.

Where is the Rolex Shanghai Masters taking place?

The 2023 Shanghai Masters will be taking place at the Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena in the Minhang District of Shanghai.

The venue is one of the largest tennis arenas in the world, holding a seating capacity of 13,779 people and has played host to the tournament since its inauguration in 2009.

Which British players will be competing at the Rolex Shanghai Masters 2023?

Singles

British No.1 Cam Norrie is leading the British charge in this year’s main draw, where he enters as the 15th seed. The 28-year-old will be gunning for a deep run in the tournament as he looks to find consistent form through the latter stages of the season.

Joining him is three-time Shanghai Masters champion, Andy Murray. The former world No.1 was crowned champion in Shanghai for the first time in 2010 after he defeated Roger Federer 6-3, 6-2 before making it back-to-back titles in 2011 and clinching the silverware once again in 2016 – the most decorated year in his career.

Completing the main draw line-up is British No.2, Dan Evans who will be eager to return to winning ways in the Asian swing.

An illustrious selection of British stars are set to take to the stage in Shanghai to contest the doubles title. 2023 Wimbledon men’s doubles champions Neal Skupski and Wesley Koolhof head to the tournament as the second seeds and will be hoping to sweep up a fourth Masters 1000 title together.

Meanwhile, Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram are gearing up to compete in their first tournament since their historic US Open win, which saw them become the first doubles duo to clinch three consecutive titles at Flushing Meadows in the Open Era. Riding on a wave of confidence and momentum, could the British, American duo claim victory in Shanghai as well?

The in-form partnership of Jamie Murray and Michael Venus enter the draw off the back of a fourth title of the season together, after they defeated Nathaniel Lammons and Jackson Withrow 6-4, 6-4 to lift the Zhuhai Championships trophy, while Lloyd Glasspool and Finnish partner Harri Heliovaara also join a strong British contingent.
