Lloyd Glasspool reaches ATP doubles world No.1
• 1 MINUTE READ
Lloyd Glasspool has become the fourth British player to top the ATP doubles rankings as he climbed to the world No.1 spot following a dominant run alongside British partner Julian Cash.
Glasspool joins compatriots Neal Skupski, Jamie Murray and Joe Salisbury as the fourth Brit to reach the summit of the ATP doubles rankings.
Cash is ranked just below his doubles partner at world No.2.
Glasspool’s latest achievement comes off the back of a sensational season, which has seen the 31-year-old climb from No.23 to the peak of the world rankings.
Glasspool joined forces with fellow Brit Cash in the backend of the 2024 season and the pair have grown from strength to strength ever since.
However, it wasn’t until this summer that the all-British duo cemented their dominance on the ATP Tour. They kick-started their grass court swing by winning back-to-back titles at the HSBC Championships and Lexus Eastbourne Open before going on to become the first all-British duo to lift the Wimbledon men’s doubles title for 89 years - marking their first major title together.
But they didn’t stop there - Glasspool and Cash went on to extend their unbeaten run by lifting their fourth consecutive title and maiden ATP Masters 1000 title at the National Bank Open at the beginning of August.
The pair went on to record a 22-match winning streak - the second longest in history after Bob and Mike Bryan (28) - before bowing out in the semi-finals of the Cincinnati Open.
Despite the loss they were rewarded by taking over the top two spots in the ATP rankings and have secured their ticket to the year-end Nitto ATP Finals in November where they will make their team debut.
Glasspool and Cash now boast a 50-12 win record in 2025 and will turn their attention to the US Open where they will bid to claim a second Grand Slam title together.
