Lloyd Glasspool and Julian Cash continued their impressive season by winning the Erste Bank Open title in Vienna.
Glasspool and Cash claimed the ATP 500 title with a 6-1, 7-6(6) over Portugal’s Francisco Cabral and home favourite Lucas Miedler in the final.
The Brits – who are the No.1 ranked doubles team in the world this year – have now won seven titles on the season, including their first Grand Slam at Wimbledon.
They have now won 55 matches together this season and are currently the ATP world No.1 and No.2.
“We knew it was never going to be easy,” said Cash after their victory. “I actually watched Erler and Miedler play the final here last year, so I knew what the stadium was going to be like.
“We had a lot of fun out there, really great to play in an atmosphere and great to get across the line.”
Glasspool added: "We had a really hot season, then injuries here and there, so it’s great to keep the winning going throughout the year, showing why we are the top team in the world.”
The second seeds had a tough road to the final – including a 4-6, 6-3, 10-5 win over fellow Brit Henry Patten and Harri Heliovaara in the semi-finals.
It was a stellar final performance from the Wimbledon champions, who didn’t face a break point against Cabral and Miedler.
The Brits dominated the first set – opening with back-to-back breaks – before sealing the match in a tight second set tie-break after an hour and 12 minutes.
Glasspool and Cash will now set their sights on the Rolex Paris Masters this week, before heading to the Nitto ATP Finals.
