Katie Boulter booked her place in the semi-final of the Ostrava Open after beating home-favourite Linda Fruhvirtova in straight sets.
Boulter hit 20 winners as she knocked out the Czech star 6-3, 6-2 in just 68 minutes, reaching her first WTA semi-final since Hong Kong in 2024.
“Today I came out with one mission in mind and I felt like I executed what I was trying to do well,” Boulter said.
“She’s a tough competitor, she’s going to through everything at it. I’m really happy with the win today. I’ve been having an amazing time (in Ostrava) and hopefully I can keep going.”
In the semis, she will take on world No.96 Katie Volynets after she knocked out fellow American Alycia Parks 5-7, 6-4, 6-2.
This will be the first meeting between Boulter and Volynets as they bid to reach Ostrava Open final.
Boulter has now made the semi-finals at six tour events – including two title runs in Nottingham and San Diego.
It's the first time since the Lexus Nottingham Open in 2024 that two British women have made a WTA semi-final in the same week after Emma Raducanu also reached the semis at the Transylvania Open.
The British star continues her impressive form this week, where she also beat Lucie Havlickova and fifth seed Viktorija Golubic in the previous rounds.
Boulter dominated the Fruhvirtova serve throughout the match – breaking the Czech star five times across two sets and winning 52% (25/48) return points.
The British No.4 got off to a fast start with an early double break, before dispatching a clean forehand cross court winner to wrap up the set at the first chance of asking.
It was a hugely impressive second set from Boulter. After coming through a tight opening service game, she only lost one point on serve the rest of the way.
Serving to stay in the set at 5-2, Fruhvirtova hit her third double fault on match point to hand victory to the Briton.
