Francesca Jones: 2025 season in review

Francesca Jones has just closed out her most successful season of her career so far.
The 25-year-old has lifted two WTA 125 and two W75 trophies, recorded a career-best ranking and fought through qualifying to reach the main draw of a Grand Slam for the first time at the US Open.
She's finished the season as the British No.3 and will be eager to continue the momentum heading into the new season.

Francesca Jones biggest win of the 2025 season:
Jones’ best win by ranking came on home turf at the Lexus Eastbourne Open back in June.
Contesting her first round match on the South Coast, the Brit took on Belgium’s Greet Minnen in the opening round.
Jones - who had received a wild card into the main draw - produced an impressive performance against the then world No.70 to win 6-4, 7-5 in an hour and 49 minutes to reach the second round where she eventually lost out to Dayana Yastremska.

Fresh off the back of making her Wimbledon main draw debut, Jones swapped the grass for the clay where she won the biggest title of her career at the WTA 125 Contrexeville without dropping a set.
Just two weeks later, the 24-year-old made her way over to Italy for the WTA 125 event in Palermo but after clinching a maiden 125 crown, Jones was gunning for more.
She kicked off her campaign in Palermo by clinching straight set wins over Chloe Paquet, Oksana Selekhmeteva and Panna Udvardy to reach the semi-finals where she overcame Tatiana Prozorova.
With another trophy in sight, third seed Jones produced devastating performance against Dutchwoman Anouk Koevermans, winning 6-3, 6-2 to wrap up a second WTA 125 title in one month and break into the WTA top 100 for the first time in her career.
From there, standout performances across the remainder of the season led Jones to maintain her position inside the top 100, where she closed out the year ranked No.74 in the world.

In case you didn't know, Jones was born with a rare genetic condition called Ectrodactyly Extodermal Dysplasia (EEC) but she didn't let that get the better of her and stop her from chasing her dreams.

In September, Jones was awarded a spot on the Lexus GB Billie Jean King Cup team ahead of the Finals in Shenzhen, following her impressive run of form on the WTA 125 circuit.
While Jones missed out on the opportunity to make her Billie Jean King Cup debut, the Brit remained a crucial member of the team, cheering on her teammates and boosting morale amongst the squad.
Ahead of Great Britain’s tense semi-final clash against USA, Jones walked onto court with this memorable outfit to help calm the nerves amongst her team.

What’s next for Francesca Jones in 2026?
Jones capped off her 2025 season in style by reaching the second WTA 250 semi-final of her career in Sao Paolo where she narrowly missed out a spot in the final to Janice Tjen.
Ending the year ranked inside the world’s top 80 will set Jones up with plenty of opportunities and firsts heading into the 2026 season where she'll be gunning to continue on the upwards trajectory.
The British No.3 will look to make a strong start to her Australian Open campaign and with her ranking where it is, will be playing some of the biggest events, including WTA 1000 tournaments, for the first time.
