Raducanu’s Grand Slam title win in 2021 was a feat never seen before in tennis.

The then 18-year-old British star began the tournament battling through qualifying before reaching the main draw for the first time in her career.

As the event progressed, Raducanu went from strength to strength. She breezed through to the final without dropping a set, including wins over future Olympic gold medallist Belinda Bencic and former world No.3 Maria Sakkari.

The final saw the first Grand Slam decider between two teenagers for the first time since 1999 as Raducanu faced off against Canadian Leylah Fernandez.

With a nation watching on through the night, Raducanu produced a masterclass to hold her nerve and win 6-4, 6-3 to lift the US Open title.

She became the first qualifier to ever win a Grand Slam title and the first British women’s major champion for 44 years – an achievement that will live on forever in the history books of our sport.
