Wimbledon 2026: Henry Patten & Harri Heliovaara make second men’s doubles final
• 2 minute read
Britain’s Henry Patten and Finland’s Harri Heliovaara are set to compete for a second Wimbledon men’s doubles title in Saturday’s final.
The top seeds showed their experience to come through two tie-breaks against Thanasi Kokkinakis and Aleksandar Kovacevic, 7-6(2), 7-6(8), in their semi-final on No.1 Court.
The duo have now won six of the seven tie-breaks they’ve played this week, and will now have the chance to add to their Wimbledon title from two years ago.
Patten could make it four consecutive years of British men’s doubles champions at SW19 when the world No.1 team take on sixth seeds Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic in the final.
Patten and Heliovaara faced Arevalo and Pavic in the final of the HSBC Championships just a few weeks ago, but were defeated by the El Salvador and Croatian team in straight sets.
The British, Finnish combination are aiming to add a third Grand Slam to their collection after titles at The Championships (2024) and the Australian Open (2025).
While they are the top team this season with four ATP titles, they are yet to win one of the majors – losing out in the Roland Garros final a month ago.

There was very little to split between the two teams in a match dominated by serving, with no breaks of serve in either set.
In the end, Patten and Heliovaara’s doubles experience proved the defining factor in the key moments.
Kovacevic started the first set tie-break with a double fault, before Heliovaara popped up at the net to clinch the double mini break at 3-0.
Just a few points later, the Finn connected on a return winner off the Australian’s serve to go 5-1 in front, and the 2024 champions went on to seal the opening set in just under an hour.
Patten and Heliovaara found themselves up against it at the end of the second set. The British star held off two set points on his serve at 5-4, with Kokkinakis unable to get the return back in play.
Into another tie-break, and Kokkinakis and Kovacevic fought hard to rescue three match points. However, with the scores locked at 8-8, Patten produced a moment of magic,
At full stretch on the return, the Briton unleashed a backhand return winner to set up a fourth match point – this time, on his own serve.
The British star guided his second serve into Kokkinakis' backhand, only for the return to shoot long and confirm their place in a second Wimbledon final.
The Wimbledon men’s doubles final will take place on Saturday 10 July on Centre Court.
