Wimbledon 2026: Arthur Fery vs Alexander Zverev semi-final preview, head-to-head & how to watch

British wild card Arthur Fery is gearing up for the biggest match of his career, taking on world No.3 and Roland Garros champion Alexander Zverev in the Wimbledon semi-finals.

Fery is bidding to become the second British player in the Open Era to reach the men’s singles final in the Open Era after Andy Murray, and the second wild card in the history of the tournament.

If the young Brit is to continue his ‘Fery-tale’ at Wimbledon, he will have to take on the in-form player on the ATP Tour and secure the best victory of his career.

When is Arthur Fery vs Alexander Zverev at Wimbledon?

Fery will play Zverev in the Wimbledon semi-final on Friday 10 July.

They will play in the first match on Centre Court starting from 13:30.

This will be a first meeting between Fery and Zverev. Fery has only faced a top-five player once before in a first round loss at Wimbledon against Daniil Medvedev in 2023.

Zverev has a 141-53 record against players ranked outside the world’s top-100. His last loss came against Cristian Garin in the Munich quarter-final in 2024.

On grass, however, his record against players ranked 100 or higher is 8-5.

Arthur Fery & Alexander Zverev's past records at Wimbledon

Fery got his first win at Wimbledon in 2025, knocking out 20th seed Alexei Popyrin in the opening round before losing to Luciano Darderi.

Until this summer, Fery only had two career Grand Slam wins, having also defeated Flavio Cobolli in the first round of the Australian Open in January this year.

Wimbledon has been Zverev’s least successful Grand Slam in the past, but the German is high on the confidence of winning his first major at Roland Garros, and is pushing on in a career-best run at SW19.

He’s reached the fourth round three times in his career, losing to Milos Raonic in 2017, Felix Auger-Aliassime in 2021 and Fritz in 2024.
