Site will be operational daily between 08:00 – 20:00.

Safety rules
- Do not interfere with any safety equipment, fencing, signage etc. around the site in the interest of health and safety.
- PPE must be worn within the construction areas at all times. At a minimum, this means hi-visibility jacket/vest, and protective footwear. A hard hat need to be worn in any area where craning or lifting operations are taking place or around scaffolding structures.
- Any person suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or any other intoxicant will be immediately removed from site - this includes being very hungover.
- All work at height must employ a safe system of work. No free climbing on any temporary structures is permitted.
- Minimise onsite vehicle movements and use a banksman when reversing.
- Only trained and competent persons can use plant / machinery on site. Driver permits must be available for inspection.
- Keep fire exits and emergency routes clear at all times.
- If you are required to carry out any hot works, ask the Site Manager so suitable arrangements can be made..
- All chemicals / substances which may be hazardous to health can only be used if accompanied with an appropriate COSHH risk assessment and stored correctly.

- If you need medical help or feel unwell at any time, contact the Site Manager, your Foreman or a member of security immediately.
- Toilets, hand wash, drinking water and rest areas are available in the Local Crew Room.
- A first aid team will be available on site and are contactable through the Site Manager.
- All accidents, incidents or near misses MUST be reported to the Site Manager and the Health & Safety Manager.

Working hours
- Devonshire Park is very close to residential houses so you must limit noise as much as possible
- Deliveries can only occur between 0800 to 1800
- Venue opening times are 0700 to 1900
- Noisy work allowed between 0800 to 1800
- Noisy work should be avoided as far as practicable on Sundays and bank holidays.
- You must have advance permission from the LTA to do any work outside of these times, or you will be told to stop immediately.

- Ensure that you sign in/out at the start & end of the day.
- Always work to your RAMS.
- Enter site by gate 4.
- Only park in designated areas.
- All contractors are to have accreditation on their person.
- You must be appropriately dressed at all times this means a shirt/T-shirt must be worn at all times.
- Smoking is only allowed in the designated areas – top car park/outside pavilion toilets.
- Horseplay or violent behaviour, use of foul and abusive language shall not take place.
- Any ladder being used shall be secured or footed while in use.
- The use of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited for any person working or driving.
- Know what to do in an emergency and where to get help.
- Due to the nature of this congested site special care must be taken at all time when moving around the site.
- All reversing must be done using a banksperson.
- Know where you are working, who you are working for, and what work you have planned each day.
- Carefully and safely plan and prepare for your task - STOP - and discuss if plans change.
- Always turn up for work in a fit and ready state, with the right tools and PPE to carry out your job onsite.
- To ensure site security, report any suspicious persons, activity or objects within the site.
- Equipment shall only be used by personnel that have received the necessary training & are competent in its use.
- Works to structures must have a physical barrier to restrict access with appropriate signage displayed.
- Only drivers approved by their employers can drive plant – this includes ALL plant and vehicles.
- All plant operators must have their licenses available for inspection if requested by a member of the safety or site management team.
- Passengers MUST NOT be carried on forklifts or other plant.
- Forklift truck keys are to be handed into the site office at the end of the days activities. On no occasion should keys be left with an unattended vehicle.
Medical and Welfare
- First aid kits are available in the site office and the LTC building reception.
- If you require Emergency Services assistance then call 999 stating the nature of the emergency and that you are on site at Devonshire Park, College Road, Eastbourne BN21 4JJ You must inform the Safety officer immediately if you have had to call an ambulance.
- The LTA will have medics on site from Saturday 22nd – Saturday 29th June in the Medical marquee in College Rd car park.
- You should advise your company safety representative of any medical conditions which may affect your work activities.

In the Event of an Emergency
- In the event of an incident requiring evacuation from site please leave via the nearest exit to where you are working (Gate 2 and 4 College Road or gate 8, Hardwick Rd. The assembly point is outside gate 4 in College Road.
- Once at the muster point, await further instruction from the Safety officer (Mark Marsden), Devonshire Park’s management or an Emergency Services representative
- If you see anything suspicious in your working area, tell the Safety officer (Mark Marsden) as soon as possible.
