What Tfl disruptions will affect HSBC Championships at The Queen’s Club?

• 2 minute read

Spectators attending the HSBC Championships should be aware of a number of planned transport disruptions that may affect their travel plans to the tournament. This includes planned engineering work by TfL and the threat of industrial action by the RMT union.

The LTA has requested TfL re-schedule the engineering work to minimise disruption to spectators, but TfL have not been able to do this, and we are now working to provide guidance and alternative routes for those travelling to The Queen’s Club.

We strongly recommend spectators check their journey in advance using the TfL Journey Planner or travel apps on the day of travel, as routes and travel times may vary.

Saturday 6 & Sunday 7 June - Barons Court repairs

Barons Court Underground station is undergoing major, phased platform closures for essential repairs, meaning eastbound trains will not call at the station on Saturday 6 & Sunday 7 June, westbound services remain operational.

Passengers wishing to head eastbound on the District line should use West Kensington or Hammersmith stations instead.

Both platforms will reopen temporarily for the remainder of the HSBC Championships from Monday 8 June.

Saturday 13 & Sunday 14 June - Planned engineering works

TfL engineering works will affect Tube services on Saturday 13 June and Sunday 14 June. The below tube services will be affected:

Saturday 13 June

  • Barons Court station will be closed until 14:00 and will then reopen, with:
    • Piccadilly line services (both directions)
    • Eastbound District line services only (no Westbound District line)

On the rest of the line:

  • No service on the District, Circle, or Hammersmith & City lines until 10:30
  • No Piccadilly line between Hyde Park Corner and Acton Town until 14:00
  • No District line between Edgware Road / Embankment and Ealing Broadway, Kensington (Olympia), Richmond or Wimbledon until 14:00

Sunday 14 June

  • Baron’s Court station is open
  • Piccadilly line: Running normally all day
  • District line: Eastbound services running all day, no westbound services available

Alternative routes to The Queen’s Club

Spectators travelling to The Queen’s Club are advised to travel to Hammersmith or West Brompton stations and continue their journey to The Queen’s Club on foot or by bus.

TfL Travel Ambassadors will be stationed at both Hammersmith and West Brompton to assist spectators with directions and walking routes. Alongside this, signage will be installed at both stations and walking routes to guide spectators on foot to the venue.

Live travel information will be available via the TfL Journey Planner and third‑party apps such as Citymapper. Please refer to our travel and parking page for more information on other transport options.

Tuesday 16 June - Friday 19 June - Planned industrial action

TfL has advised that planned industrial action may take place later in the Championships week, which could result in further disruption to Tube services across London.

Proposed Strike Dates

  • Tuesday 16 June (from midday) to Wednesday 17 June (midday)
  • Thursday 18 June (from midday) to Friday 19 June (midday)

If these strikes go ahead, spectators may experience reduced or suspended Tube services, longer journey times, and increased demand on alternative transport options.

TfL has confirmed that journey planning tools, station announcements, targeted customer communications and third‑party travel apps will reflect the latest service information should industrial action proceed.

We strongly recommend spectators travelling on these dates:

  • Check their journey shortly before travel
  • Allow extra time where possible
  • Consider rail, bus, taxi or walking routes as alternatives

Further updates will be shared as soon as more information becomes available.
