Emma Raducanu
July saw a triumphant return to SW19 for 21-year-old Raducanu – who equalled her career-best performance at Wimbledon in reaching the fourth round.
Raducanu beat world No.33 Elise Mertens and ninth seed Maria Sakkari on her way to the fourth round, before losing out to Lulu Sun 6-2, 5-7, 6-2.
Her results, along with a semi-final at the Rothesay Open Nottingham and quarter-final at the Rothesay International Eastbourne in June saw her bounce back inside the top 100 and up to world No.89.
Billy Harris
What a summer it has been for 29-year-old Billy Harris. Off the back of three grass court semi-finals (Surbiton, Nottingham and Eastbourne) and a quarter-final at the cinch Championships, Harris made his Wimbledon singles debut in July.
Harris’ form continued into the US swing as well – with the British star qualifying for Newport and reaching the second round, before also fighting his way into the main draw in Atlanta.
He finished the month at his highest ranking of world No.114.
Henry Patten
July was a breakthrough month for doubles star Henry Patten as the 28-year-old lifted his first Grand Slam title at Wimbledon.
Teaming up with Finland’s Harri Heliovaara, the duo beat Australian partnership Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson 6-7(7), 7-6(8), 7-6(9) in a classic of a men’s doubles final.
Patten is only the third British player to lift the title in the Open Era and the win has seen him climb to world No.14 – inside the top 20 for the first time in his career.
Alfie Hewett
Alfie Hewett became the fourth wheelchair tennis player to complete the career Grand Slam in July after getting his hands on the Wimbledon wheelchair men’s singles title for the first time.
The world No.1 beat fourth seed Martin De La Puente 6-2, 6-3 in the final to fulfil his lifelong dream of winning The Championships. It marked his ninth career singles Grand Slam trophy.
Hewett and Gordon Reid also combined to win the men’s doubles title for a sixth time after beating Tokito Oda and Takuya Miki 6-4, 7-6(2).
