Stuart Baker to join the Tennis Wales team

• 2 MINUTE READ

We’ve added to our team and are welcoming Stuart Baker as Participation Development Partner helping us to deliver our strategy across Wales: leading our participation priorities across the club, volunteer network, park and community tennis venues and education sites.

‘We’re delighted to have Stuart join us here at Tennis Wales. His combination of skills and experiences as a player, coach and volunteer for Merthyr Tydfil Tennis Club alongside his professional and project management skills from managing customer care at Trade Centre Wales are an exciting blend to help us drive forward the ‘Tennis Opened Up in Wales’ strategy.’

Stuart joins us from Trade Centre Wales where he has been working as a senior manager for the group in after sales Customer Care. Stuart has extensive experience in project management and delivery. He also has led staff training across new site openings. His skills and experience will, we anticipate, be key in helping us roll out plans across parks tennis in the coming years.

‘Being an avid tennis player, fan and a sport development graduate from Cardiff Met, working at Tennis Wales will connect both my passion for tennis and knowledge of sport development and was an opportunity I could not refuse. I’m now very much looking forward to starting my next career at Tennis Wales and making positive changes that will benefit everyone involved’.

Stuart has a Sports Development and Coaching degree from Cardiff Met. and whilst being a keen player, he is also a key member of the team at Merthyr Tennis Club as both a coach and committee member.  Stuart will take on the role of Participation Development Partner from Monday 22nd November, and we very much look forward to welcoming him to the Tennis Wales Team.
