Caernarfon Junior Tournament a Resounding Success

Clwb Tenis Iau Arfon, in conjunction with Williams Tennis Academy, recently held its first ever tournament at 8-and-under and 9-and-under age groups.
17 children took part in the tournament. The winners were:
8-and-under
- Winner - Siôn Jones
- Runner up – Kai Horrocks
9-and-under (orange ball)
- Winner – Arimia Williams
- Runner up – Hollie Horrocks
In the 8-and-under event, both Siôn and Kai came through their round robin groups unbeaten. The final between the two players was a brilliant match, with Siôn eventually winning 10-8.
In the 9-and-under event Arimia finished the day unbeaten, with Hollie winning all but one match.
All of the children said they wanted to play more tournaments. This shows the progress made over the last 12 months, when there was no junior tennis tournaments happening at the tennis centre. A special thanks goes out to Renovo Aesthetics for sponsoring the event, with all the children receiving a medal and certificate, and the winners and runners up a trophy.
Plans are already afoot to organise more tournaments for junior players in North Wales, with a 12-and-under tournament in the pipeline for November.
