Tennis Scotland to host two major national padel competitions

Tennis Scotland are delighted to announce that we are hosting two major national padel competitions in September 2026.
Marking a significant milestone in the growth of padel in Scotland, the Scottish Open Championships will take place at Racket Barn in Glasgow from 18-20 September.
With a total prize fund of £4000 and LTA British Tour Grade One ranking points on offer, the event is set to attract leading men’s and women’s players from across Scotland, Great Britain and beyond as they bid to make history by becoming Scottish national champions. Earlier in September, the fourth annual Padel Scottish Cup will reach its conclusion when Finals Day takes place at Racket Barn on 6 September - following weeks of club versus club knockout action around Scotland.
The growth of the national padel competition calendar in Scotland highlights the increasing popularity of the sport, with more than 80 courts now up and running and many more in the pipeline. In our role as governing body for padel, Tennis Scotland are supporting venues, players and the workforce as the sport continues to grow.
Looking ahead to the Scottish Open Championships, the Tennis Scotland Chief Executive Blane Dodds said: “The best players from around the country will not only have the chance to earn ranking points and prize money – they can also make history by becoming national champions.
"As one of the world’s fastest growing sports, padel is rapidly gaining momentum in Scotland, with more players, courts, and competitions than ever before. These upcoming events will help showcase padel to wider audiences and we’re looking forward to some top-quality action.”
