Reid & Hewett continue unbeaten 2025 as Barlow & Moore win on TS Open Tour

• 4 MINUTE READ

Gordon Reid’s clay-court season got off to the perfect start as he and regular partner Alfie Hewett continued their unbeaten start to the year in doubles.

Reid and Hewett won the Allianz Para Trophy in Munich to secure their fourth title from four events in 2025.

The pair started their campaign with a comfortable 6-2, 6-3 win over the French duo of Nicolas Charrier and Gaetan Menguy.

That victory put them into the final where they started quickly against the Netherlands-Belgium combination of Maikel Scheffers and Joachim Gerard, taking the first set 6-0.

But the all-British duo were hauled back into a contest as they dropped the second set 5-7. They came through in the end, though, taking the match tie-break 10-4 to get their hands on the trophy.

TS Open Tour: Barlow & Moore win at Whitecraigs

Heather Barlow and Ewan Moore were the champions as the Tennis Scotland Open Tour continued at the Whitecraigs Easter Open.

Second seed Barlow lifted the women’s title without dropping a set all weekend, completing her run with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Anna McKnight in the final.

In the men’s event, fourth seed Moore had to overcome a tough first-round battle with Finlay Watters to get his campaign up and running. In the final, Moore took on James MacKinlay, coming through 7-5, 6-1 to pick up the trophy.

Stewart reaches eighth ITF doubles final of year

Hamish Stewart reached his eighth doubles final of the year on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

He teamed up with David Poljak at the M25 Sharm ElSheikh in Egypt as the pair reached the title decider without dropping a set.

In a close-run final, Stewart and Poljak levelled the match by winning the second set, but fell agonisingly short as Yaroslav Demin and Ryan Peniston took the trophy 11-9.

There was also a title for Ewen Lumsden on The Progress Tour as he was crowned champion in Loughborough following a win over Finn Bass in the final.

On the ATP Tour, there were first pro wins on clay for Scottish number one Jacob Fearnley, as he beat Leo Borg in qualifying for the Barcelona Open before overcoming Roberto Carballés Baena in the first round.

Fearnley’s run, though, was ended at the hands of world number seven Alex de Minaur in the last 16.

Junior Nationals final for Hephzibah Oluwadare

Hephzibah Oluwadare reached the final of the girls’ doubles at the Lexus Junior National Championships in Roehampton.

The Scottish number one teamed up with Ruby Cooling to enter the event as third seeds and made their way to the final without dropping a set, including an impressive semi-finals victory over the top seeds Flora Johnson and Allegra Korpanec Davies 7-6, 6-2.

That set up a clash with TS Open Tour Finals women’s champion Mia Wainwright and Hollie Smart.

Hephzibah and Ruby started quickly, taking the opening set 6-3 before Mia and Hollie levelled with the same scoreline in the second.

It came down to a tense tie-break for the title, with Mia and Hollie edging their way to victory
