Accessibility statement
This accessibility statement applies to the websites https://www.lta.org.uk/ and https://www.ltapadel.org.uk/ as the main websites for the LTA.
This website is run by the LTA.
Website accessibility is an area of importance for the LTA, and we want as many people as possible to be able to use this website.
For example, that means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts;
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen;
- navigate most of the website using just a keyboard;
- navigate most of the website using speech recognition software;
- interact with most of the website using a screen reader; and
- We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.
Visit AbilityNet for advice and ‘how to’ guides to make your device easier to use.
How accessible this website is
We know that some parts of this website are not fully accessible:
- PDF documents may not be fully accessible to screen reader software;
- Some live streams and videos do not have captions;
- We do not provide audio descriptions for videos; and
- We cannot guarantee accessibility of links to websites or software that we do not own or manage.
We are actively working to address these issues as part of an ongoing programme to improve the accessibility of this website.
Feedback and contact information
We’re always looking to improve the accessibility of this website and welcome any feedback about the LTA websites, including:
- any problems accessing information or using this website;
- any positive feedback about this website's accessibility;
- reporting accessibility problems with this website not listed on this page; and
- any accessibility requirements you think we're not meeting.
You can report this feedback or submit an accessibility query using our enquiry form.
Technical information about this website’s accessibility
The LTA is committed to making its website accessible.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.
Non-accessible content
The following items do not comply with the WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria:
Some images do not have a text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content).
Captions are not provided for all live audio content in synchronised media. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.2.4 (Captions (Live)).
Audio description is not provided for all prerecorded video content in synchronised media. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.2.5 (Audio Description (Prerecorded)).
Some links are badly formatted, either with text that is not descriptive enough, e.g. click here or have the full web address e.g. https://www. rather than formatted link text. This fails WCAG success criterion 2.4.4 (Link Purpose (In Context)).
PDFs and Word documents may not all be structured, so they’re accessible to a screen reader. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 4.1.2 (name, role value).
What we’re doing to improve accessibility
Providing an accessible service is a priority for us at the LTA and we’re working across the business to improve our digital accessibility.
We are regularly reviewing the WCAG 2.2 success criterion above that we’re not meeting to explore ways to improve, including regular reviews of the media used on site (images, videos, PDFs) as well as regular reviews of written content and links.
We are continually working to improve our site's accessibility and exploring the use of tools that could support our audits.
Everyone involved in creating content and editing the website is responsible for accessibility. It is considered and prioritised at every stage of the website journey, from planning and development through to publication.
Support, guidance and training are in place for those tasked with making changes to the website, ensuring that we not only meet but exceed web accessibility standards.
We use a library of accessible components and patterns while designing and building new components to level AA of WCAG 2.2.
We’ve created guidelines on how to create accessible content that are shared with all website editors.
