| Job Info: Part time role, for the 2026/27 academic year initially Term time only (Sep - Mar) approximately 5 hours per week Salary by negotiation Most delivery will take place at the Northumberland Club in Jesmond Responsiibilities: To lead engaging, high quality group coaching sessions to Newcastle University Tennis Club’s BUCS squad To run trials, pick squads and ranking orders for teams To attend key home BUCS fixtures to provide coaching support and identify areas of improvement To deliver targeted individual/pairs/small group coaching sessions to supplement the larger squad sessions |
Newcastle University Sport (the employer) is based at the Newcastle University Sport and Fitness Centre, located on campus in the centre of Newcastle. NCL Sport has secured a 3 year part-funding agreement and Tier 2 partner status with the Lawn Tennis Association from 2026-2029 and will aim to deliver on a number of collaborative objectives and projects.
NCL Sport are looking for a head coach to lead its tennis club's BUCS squad. The BUCS squad includes the best 25 players at the university who train twice a week and operate five teams that compete against other universities in BUCS during the academic year. Most sessions and matches take place at the Northumberland Club in Jesmond.
Newcastle University has a well recognised reputation for sporting success, regularly finishing in the top 10 universities across the UK.
Ideally the successful candidate should be a current or ex-tennis player of a good standard, with experience developing young players at a performance level
