Tennis Coach / Assistant Head Coach – Wilton Tennis Club
Wilton Tennis Club is seeking an enthusiastic and committed coach to join our growing programme. The successful candidate will be capable of managing their own workload while also supporting and guiding our team of full‑time coaches and coaching assistants. This role requires someone who can lead, inspire, and motivate Junior players—both within the Junior Coaching Programme and across the wider Junior Tennis pathway at the club.
The ideal coach will bring confidence, positivity, and strong communication skills to all coaching environments, including group sessions, Cardio Tennis, school coaching, competitions, individual lessons, and holiday camps.
For highly experienced applicants interested in broader responsibility, there is potential for this role to be appointed as Assistant Head Coach. In this capacity, you may be required to oversee the coaching business during periods when the Head Coach is away. You will be expected to act as a role model for the coaching team and complete a set amount of weekly administrative duties. Strong computer literacy and competence with social media platforms are essential.
Both roles require availability for a regular Monday–Saturday working schedule.
Wilton Coaching Ltd operates from Wilton Tennis Club, an established outdoor venue featuring four floodlit courts and an additional floodlit mini court, all recently resurfaced. The club also benefits from a modern, well‑equipped clubhouse offering changing facilities, a bar, and a dedicated table tennis area. A major investment programme is planned for 2027/2028, including full court relaying and a comprehensive clubhouse renovation.
Located just 0.5 miles from the town centre, the club sits within a thriving residential community, providing excellent visibility and access to a large potential customer base.
Our coaching programme is one of the most active in the area, delivering over 40 pre‑paid courses and 9 pay‑and‑play sessions each term. The club has a combined junior and adult membership of more than 500 players, in addition to a significant number of juniors who participate weekly through the coaching programme without requiring membership. In total, over 600 players are enrolled in weekly coaching sessions each term.
We are seeking a coach who demonstrates a genuine passion for tennis and for developing players of all ages and abilities. Applicants must be confident coaching from age 3 upwards and have proven experience guiding players from beginner or club level through to competitive standards. The successful coach will also be expected to work effectively with our top team‑level players competing in the upper divisions of Surrey Tennis, providing high‑quality hitting, technical development, and tactical support.
Candidates wishing to be considered for the Assistant Head Coach position must be highly organised, reliable, and trustworthy, with the capability to oversee the coaching operation during periods when the Head Coach is away. The role requires a personable, approachable leader who inspires others, sets high professional standards, and acts as a positive role model for the entire coaching team.
