Samuel & Clarke lift Challenger silverware

23-year-old Toby Samuel continued his impressive run of form in winning his third ATP Challenger singles title Hersonsissos, Greece.

Samuel – who also won the M25 Vale do Lobo title last week – extended his unbeaten run to 10 matches, winning his second all-British final in the space of two weeks.

The British star defeated countryman Harry Wendelken in the final 6-3, 6-0 to lift his seventh singles trophy since the start of 2025.

The former NCAA star has risen inside the world’s top 200 for the first time in the live ATP rankings, but will have to wait to formally seal his new career-high ranking when the rankings are set post Indian Wells.

Elsewhere, Jay Clarke also featured amongst the ATP Challenger winners last week – combining with Max Houkes to win the Kigali Challenger.

Clarke and Houkes saved a match point to beat Siddhant Banthia and Alexander Donski in the final 6-4, 6-7(6), 12-10.

This marks Clarke’s third career doubles title at Challenger level and first since 2024.

Britian’s Finn Bass came runner-up in the Hersonsissos Challenger men’s doubles – losing Jacopo Berrettini and Kimmer Coppejans 3-6, 6-1, 10-3 in the final.

Joshua Paris also made the final of the Thionville Challenger with France’s Luca Sanchez, but lost out to Ivan Liutarevich and Filip Pieczonka 7-6(11), 7-6(5).

Matusevich leads four ITF title winners

Anton Matusevich won the only singles title of the week at the M15 Poitiers in France.

The 24-year-old made it back-to-back ITF $15k titles with a 7-6(8), 6-3 victory over Italy’s Leonardo Rossi in the final.

The Briton has won two titles already this season, which equals his career-best haul for a single season from 2019.

Hamish Stewart came home with the M25 Trimbach doubles title with German partner Daniel Masur, thanks to a 6-4, 7-6(3) final win over Gian Gruenig and Jeffrey Von Der Schulenburg.

Alicia Dudeney won her second doubles title of the season at the W15 Hagetmau with Lucie Petruzelova, beating Carlotta Moccia and Paula Ortega Redondo 6-4, 6-2 in the final.

Finally, Oliver Okonkwo and USA’s Gavin Young beat Reece Falck and Nicaise Muamba 6-3, 7-5 in the final of the M15 Sherbrooke to win his first professional title.
