Rising stars Mika Stojsavljevic and Mimi Xu claim titles at Lexus British Pro Series Birmingham

Rising British junior stars Mika Stojsavljevic and Mimi Xu continued their standout 2025 seasons by claiming the singles and doubles titles respectively at the Lexus British Pro Series Birmingham at the Edgbaston Priory Club.
16-year-old Stojsavljevic, who made her Wimbledon main draw singles debut this year and reached the semi-finals of the junior girls' event at the US Open in September, claimed her second professional singles title after a battling week in Birmingham.
She fought back from a set down in three consecutive matches prior to the final, including quarter and semi-final clashes against fellow Brits Xu and Amarni Banks, both of whom were seeded.
However, Stojsavljevic faced no trouble in Saturday’s final against fifth seed Katarina Kuzmova and went on to record a dominant 6-4, 6-0 victory.
Speaking after her win, Stojsavljevic said, “It’s really great (to claim the title) I had some tough matches this week, so I’m really happy to take the title. I’ll go home for the next two days and then it’s up to Wrexham for the W100, which will be really exciting.”
Xu, who had a dream run in Edgbaston at the Lexus Birmingham Open back in June, didn’t let her singles quarter-final defeat to Stojsavljevic affect her, as the former Wimbledon girls juniors doubles runner-up partnered up with Czechia's Vendula Valdmannova to secure the doubles title without dropping a set.
Prior to the final, the number two seeds dropped just three games in their quarter and semi-final wins, but faced a tough challenge in the form of top seeds Kuzmova and fellow Brit Alicia Dudeney.
A close final ensued, and after taking the first set, Xu and Valdmannova came back from a break down in the second to take it to a tie-break, from which the British-Czechian pair emerged victorious to claim the title 6-3, 7-6(5).
Xu said post-win of the week, “It’s been amazing. I remember coming here for the grass event here earlier (in the year) and it’s the same atmosphere, all the people here love tennis and it’s such a great club to play at.”
Tournament Director Kerry Smith spoke following the conclusion of the singles final, saying, “It was a brilliant week in Birmingham and so positive to see so many British women in the draws. It really highlights the benefit of hosting these Pro Series tournaments in Britain.
"A huge congratulations to Mimi and Mika for lifting the doubles and singles trophies respectively.’’

This week, Stojsavljevic and Xu both head to North Wales for the Lexus Wrexham Open, a W100 event that is the biggest tennis event held in Britain outside of the grass court season, and the first time professional tennis has been held in Wales since 1996.
Meanwhile, the men travel to Sheffield for the Lexus British Pro Series Sheffield, an ITF M25 event.
